Last summer's dill caught a dusting of snow today.

Adopted a new friend to join the family; she's settling in and waiting on a name.

The first night went well, she's currently isolated when not being supervised but we can tell she's ready to explore.

Kittens are so brave!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Update: I'm pleased to say that this photo won the 'Your View' category in the Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year 2012 competition.

Congratulations to everyone who made it and can't wait to see them at the exhibition.

Update 16 May 2013

Throughout June, there will be an exhibition of a selection of images from all years of the Awards travelling to some of the biggest stations in the UK. The display stand will be two-sided, with one side remaining the same at all venues and the other changing, depending on the location. The exhibitions will be travelling to Manchester Piccadilly, Leeds, Glasgow Central, London King’s Cross in June and then to London Waterloo in August for a week at a time. Sitting in prime locations within the station concourse, they will be seen by commuters and visitors alike.

I'm pleased to say that March Trees has been selected for the ‘generic side’ of the exhibition and so will appear at all venues.

Saturday 08 – Saturday 15 June – Manchester Piccadilly station

Sunday 16 - Saturday 22 June – Leeds station

Monday 24 – Saturday 29 June – Glasgow Central station

Monday 01 July – Saturday 07 July – King’s Cross station

Saturday 10 – Saturday 17 Aug – London Waterloo station

Charlie Waite will be at each exhibition on the relevant Monday and Take a View are working with Network Rail to organise publicity events for the day.

The trees are approximately 20cm high (about 8 inches to the older viewers)

Happy Christmas to you.

Thanks for visiting.

How about something a little different for the photo stream today?

I had to go downtown for something today and figured I'd take a small detour while walking and get a shot of Gatineau, Quebec across the river.

It was midday so the light isn't ideal but I was there and it turned out alright so I'm not going to complain, it's been a long time since I've stitched together a panorama like this (19 shots) so I'm just happy it lined up and worked out!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

What can be more fun than shooting Macro when it's windy and blowing outside! This image was taken at our local High Desert Photography Club in Idaho Falls. I thought about softening or cloning out the lines in the cloth, but as I looked at it, the lines seemed to add more interest. What to you think?

Gizmo and Sophie are staying with us for a few days while my parents help my Granny move into a new apartment.

Gizmo spent the afternoon relaxing on my bed and didn't seem to mind when I came around with my camera. I had the flash on and most of the animals are not a fan, but Gizmo didn't seem to mind the flash.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

The bunny I crocheted today reminds me of a budget Pikachu and made me laugh, so of course I figured it would be perfect for today's photo!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Today 17 babies will die, the tragic victims of stillbirth or neonatal death. This is a statistic that is seeing no signs of decreasing, and behind each number is a family rocked to the foundations by the death of their baby.

This shocking figure, the loss of 6,500 babies every year, is something the public is not generally aware of. Most people think stillbirths don’t happen in the 21st century. Yet stillbirth in the UK is 10 times more common than cot death.

At Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, we feel this number of deaths is totally unacceptable. We have launched the Why17? campaign to raise awareness of this devastating loss and to ask the question:

“Why are 17 babies a day dying and what can be done to halt this national tragedy?”

“I just want to raise awareness of stillbirth. I had no idea that this could happen to me

Happy Beautiful Bug Butt Thursday!

A windy, rainy, and stormy March day in Madison, Alabama. Construction of a large housing development is scheduled to begin in this location soon. It will likely look much different a year from now.

The misty conditions created some beautiful lighting effects from the rising sun.
