it was windy and cold here...

My legs still bear the itchy bites.

When we pulled onto the car park so I could take this shot, it became apparent very quickly that it wasn’t going to be easy. Firstly I was shooting straight into the sun, even though it was behind a cloud the photo isn’t great. Secondly it was blowing a Gale, standing upright and keeping the camera steady was almost impossible.

March Haigh reservoir is located on Marsden Moor in the Kirklees District of West Yorkshire. It’s 332 meters (1089 feet) above sea level, it is only accessible on foot, a walk of around 1 mile. It was originally constructed to feed the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and can hold 71 million gallons of water. The canal runs for approximately 20 miles from Huddersfield in the east, it rises 134 metres through 42 locks to Marsden, where it enters Standedge Tunnel, which is the longest, deepest and highest canal tunnel in the country. The moorland surrounding the reservoir is a site of Special Scientific Interest.

I forgot The Engine Room was open so I wasn't dressed for it, but ran over as soon as I remembered and got in my weekly candid snap - yes these are going to be a thing now, deal with it. Got all kinds of steamy, cyber goodness. Tossing up which one of the Somnium Automatons I'm going to buy and terrify my girl with. She already freaks out just a bit at this hairstyle but this is how I get my kicks.

Today's outfit is the Flow Curls from Unorthodox, PKC Ear Tentacles (these were a gift, thank you baby!) and the Essential Tracksuit from Vale Koer. This is a vintage item from 2017 but I rediscovered it in the depths of my inventory on the weekend and was happy to find its still magical and a bit of clever shaping could make it fit.

Manakara (Madagascar) – I've visited many markets around the world. The one in Manakara on Madagascar's southeast coast is undoubtedly one of my favorites. There's an atmosphere here that you won't find anywhere else.

I picked this bouquet for this flower specifically so I figured it would only be appropriate to showcase it in a photo.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

& Happy St. Patrick's Day 🍀

Salamanca, Castille, Espagne

A wonderful day in March when all the elements combined to make a beautiful crashing wave in the Solent .The elements are wind strength wind direction and the height of the tide. Not many days during the year that this happens.

It's been a rainy/snowy day today so I figured I may as well bring out a rubber duck and try to get a shot in a puddle... because, why not?

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Planted aconites in my garden borders last year didn't think any of them had taken but this little lovely proved me wrong, guess this one liked the shady side of the garden. For the Looking close..on Friday theme 'Flora in March'

I actually went outside to get a photo of the pigeons gathered in the yard but they were being camera shy today; luckily a bit of seed and this guy decided to pose for me, although he wasn't too sure what I was up to or why.

Bonus points to those who can spot the red squirrel hiding in the bokeh!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

On a quiet Halloween in the Mount Washington Valley, the Conway Scenic Railroad's noon Valley Train trundles southbound over Moat Brook Trestle at MP 136.19 (from North Station in Boston) on the Conway Branch, owned and operated since 1974 by the Conway Scenic Railroad after having seen its last freight depart two years prior.

Leading the train is CSRR 573 an EMD GP7 that was built new for the Maine Central Railroad in Sep. 1950 which was delivered in this B&M style maroon scheme during the era when the two railroads were still jointly managed. The veteran geep has called the Conway Scenic home for three decades since being purchased from Guilford Transportation, the successor to the Maine Central, in 1995.

Coupled behind 573 is parlor car 'Gertrude Emma' named after the wife Conway Scenic's founder and original owner Dwight Smith. This car was built by the Pullman Palace Car Company in 1898 when Robert Todd Lincoln (eldest son of President Lincoln) was President of the company. It was built as a sleeper-parlor-observation car for service on the Pennsylvania Railroad's Pennsylvania Limited which ran between Jersey City and Chicago via Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and may very well be the oldest Pullman car still in regular daily operation.
