The colors are just starting to appear in Lost Maples, Texas. 5 mile hike today on the west trail but it was worth it!!!
...remind me of home. Try telling everyone here we call them "Japanese" Maples....yikes..
I took this picture at Naejangsan National Park
I had a few minutes after work yesterday to shoot a few photos of the fall foliage on display at the Washington Arboretum. The trick is to find a nice composition excluding sky and people! Fortunately, there are many possibilities here!
Technical details: Canon 5D Mark II, EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM at f/22 and 28mm focal length, 0.6 second exposure (after the sun has gone down!) at ISO 800. I also used a B+W circular polarizer for this image.
In the Charles Sauriol Conservation Area, along the Don Valley trails, there's a small clearing, in the midst of which stands this majestic maple. Its brilliant yellow leaves -- half on the tree, and half on the ground -- made the whole area glow golden.
