* Manipulation
Photo manipulation is as old as photography itself; the idea of a photo having inherent verisimilitude is a social construct. Manipulation has been used to deceive or persuade viewers, or for improved story-telling and self-expression. Sometimes a photo manipulation has little or no resemblance to the photo from which is started. Image manipulation software is then used to apply effects and warp the image in whatever way possible until the desired result is achieved
My son and his favorite pet, somewhere in my imagination, Canada.
This is the only red water iris I know of. Using the photo I did several duplicated layers to give depth.
Used the Find edges on the top layer & painted the photo back using a soft opacity. Giving the under layer a blur effect.
Adding several filters to create a misty breaking of morning light.
All work done in PaintShop Pro.
Thank you for your comments & favs. Flicker is not letting me comment ..fav... or even see your work...keep getting the Bad Panda page.... hope things improve soon.

A random photograph of the sky that I've manipulated in photoshop to create this abstract landscape.

So....I tried a multiple piece photo manipulation for the first time ever...I'm....not excited by my really bad skills, ha ha. THe quality is poor because I was just playing around, not planning on taking it this far.
I am aware it has flaws, but I'd appreciate feed back.
All elements came from my own photos or were completely fabricated except the base lantern image which came from giftsunusual.com
Anyway...please don't be brutal but I'd like to learn :)

Another shot from the Anderson Alley Artist's open house earlier this month...
This visually stunning presentation titled, "Zap" is by metal sculptor, Ted Sliwinski.
The Booksmart Studio: Gallery Kunstler is hosting the Metals BFA Thesis Exhibition for Rochester Institute of Technology's School for American Craft from May 7th through the 27th.
Stereoscopic Manipulation is one of a trio of beautifully sleek, ergonomic, and even sexy "Ray Guns" framed in a circle of pink neon. Easily the first thing I noticed when entering the gallery, Sliwinski's work complemented fellow artist, Ellen McCooe's jewelry perfectly rather than overpower.
Together their work gave the space a remarkably cinematic, science fiction-like atmosphere.

The Library of Congress website offers a multitude of historical images, many with no known restrictions on use. This image is derived from the 1925 Keystone stereograph titled Woodward Avenue from City Hall, Detroit, Mich.. Hudson's department store, visible in the background,was the tallest department store in the world until 1961. It was demolished in 1998. The billboard above the National Clothing Co. advertises silk: "Every woman can now afford to wear silk. Underwear - Gloves - Hosiery" The original image has much readable text, including license plate numbers, and some has been noted above.
