India is a developing country where in some places women still don’t have a voice. I wanted to show people what is the reality here; and how man dictate societal norms, when women have no other option then to follow them. My initial idea was to paint a snake-charmer – a representation of Indian culture; however in his basket instead of a snake, there would be a woman. This work symbolizes the patriarchal society and how women are treated – as puppets. Medium - acrylics
