A massive red mangrove along the Shark River in Everglades National Park, Florida. The mangrove forests of the Everglades reach astounding heights - some trees exceed 100 feet,
Was a beautiful evening - I went there to get some longer exposure photos but the wind had dropped and the skies weren't moving, so mostly I was trying to find symmetry in the reflections.

I saw this by one of the units by the Rocdale Canal and Calder and Hebble canal basin at Sowerby Bridge. When i was a child i trapped my thumb in the cogs of one of these devices, and I've got the scar to prove it. If i were to buy this labour saving device for my wife i would be the talk of the wash-house.

After ~5 months it's reached this sort of steady state where it's not ever going to heal (unless I go in for surgery and have a bone graft taken out of my leg to be plugged into the gap between the two chunks of bone, and have a metal plate stuck in to hold everything in place for the several months it would take to knit back together) so now I just need to consider whether it's more of a pain to have my shoulder (and leg) cut open for emergency repairs, then be knocked offline for however many months it would take to heal, or to just let it be and deal with nagging pain for however long it takes my body to get used to it.
Sigh.

The sun went down and lit up the bay with a final hurrah, but and the horizon was filled with sheets of rain. - time to go home.
Didn't get a great angle on this. It was almost completely flattened. Rather difficult to determine which angle would be best, and then my camera's batteries died after this shot.
