Here are the results of playing our new favorite game at my and Matt's birthday party. Called "Eat Poop You Cat" by some, we've rechristened it "Drunk Ninja Puppets Play Candyland." It's an "Exquisite Corpse" style of game. However, instead of one large drawing, participants alternate between text and images. The first person starts a long strip of paper with a phrase. The second makes a drawing based on the phrase, then folds the top of the paper back, so the original phrase is no longer visible. Then, the next person writes a phrase based on what they think the drawing is expressing. Then they fold back the drawing so only their phrase is passed on. The next must make a drawing and so forth. It is hilarious to see how mangled some ideas get and how well others hold up.

Was a beautiful evening - I went there to get some longer exposure photos but the wind had dropped and the skies weren't moving, so mostly I was trying to find symmetry in the reflections.

I saw this by one of the units by the Rocdale Canal and Calder and Hebble canal basin at Sowerby Bridge. When i was a child i trapped my thumb in the cogs of one of these devices, and I've got the scar to prove it. If i were to buy this labour saving device for my wife i would be the talk of the wash-house.

After ~5 months it's reached this sort of steady state where it's not ever going to heal (unless I go in for surgery and have a bone graft taken out of my leg to be plugged into the gap between the two chunks of bone, and have a metal plate stuck in to hold everything in place for the several months it would take to knit back together) so now I just need to consider whether it's more of a pain to have my shoulder (and leg) cut open for emergency repairs, then be knocked offline for however many months it would take to heal, or to just let it be and deal with nagging pain for however long it takes my body to get used to it.
Sigh.
