Common Yellowthroat (m)

The Jin Mao (金茂大厦) in Pudong at 93 floors is one of the tallest building in the world, but not the tallest building in Shanghai (上海). Opened in 1988, the architecture takes in account the Chinese tradition of pagoda, of course in different scale. Designed paradoxically by Chicago company (SOM). Main occupant is Hyatt Hotel from 54 to 88 floors. In elevator, on the way to the top we met Anthony - a Chinese American originally from Seattle. After a brief conversation, he mentioned that he was the General Manager of the hotel. He suggested going the 85 floor for the best view of the atrium. The view from the hotel may be spectacular, but we could not experience it, as the whole city was shrouded in heavy fog.

Mercury is the "office manager" at The Cat Connection, in Brighton, Massachusetts. I adopted Lisa and Bart's predecessor, Connor" from them in 2013.

Thinking of my sweet gray asymmetrical boy's traits and fitting those to a probable and fitting day job....I know he would shine as a production manager...he likes his people to be in their places at expected times doing their routines. If not, there is the 'scowl' and verbiage and perfected body language. JAX keeps us in line! Happy Caturday to everyone.

"Museums are managers of consciousness. They give us an interpretation of history, of how to view the world and locate ourselves in it."

"Los museos son gerentes del conocimiento. Estos nos dan una interpretación de la historia, de como ver al mundo y ubicarnos en él."

Peccato che la foto non sia perfetta, neanche col ritocco, desaturando e sfocado lo sfondo per eliminare alcuni elementi di disturbo, sono riuscito a rendere delle belle tonalità di colore.

Ma l' espressione catturata non poteva mancare nell' album!

SPOTLIGHT ON THE BALD EAGLE’S ALL-AMERICAN COMEBACK IN NEW JERSEY

by Lindsay McNamara, Communications Manager

June 20th 2016

In 1985 — just 31 years ago — a single bald eagle nest remained in the state of New Jersey. In 2015, CWF and partners monitored 161 nests throughout the Garden State. Just this year (as of June 20, 2016), over 50 young eagles have already fledged from their nests! What sparked this All-American comeback of the United States’ National Bird?

DDT use was banned in the United States in 1972. That ban combined with restoration efforts by biologists within the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Endangered and Nongame Species Program (ENSP) resulted in 25 bald eagle pairs by 2000.

In 2017 the number of New Jersey active bald eagle pairs was 170.

#442 explore 01/06/2008

I took this photo the other day when I was playing around with my look.

It didn't get posted at the time because I hated the images. you see I was going through one of my many self loathing phases! They seem to be more prevalent just lately not to sure why but I think it might have something to do with seeing more youngsters doing what I should have done decades ago.

Anyway this were almost consigned to the recycle bin until I viewed it today.

Turns out its not as bad as I remember :-)

Once upon a time I would have been the saucy secretary now I am more the mature office manager! Think I like that idea better.

well I will back to floaty Helen soon so make the most of this one

A poor quality photograph, but the only one I have since my hard disk fried. This is the wonderful Bryndyfi mine, another one of those white elephants which promised much and delivered... nothing. There's a range of buildings, a crusher house, a couple of buddle pits and a lovely tramway, plus this managers house.

Today I started my new job as office manager in our accounts department and I wanted to impress my boss and my team of account handlers. I decided on putting on this tight black skirt with a nicely designed top to look both smart and professional, I may have gone slightly over the top with the heels but it felt right to put them on to.

While awaiting boat repairs at Oulbury, Arik Metzger agrees to work as port manager for the community in exchange for room and board.

He steps out of the weathered old bait shack-turned-harbor "office," gazing over to his broke down fishing trawler "Amak" as it bobs and sways slowly at its mooring. Inhaling of his pipe's smoldering tobacco, he turns to gaze about, and realizes his cat seems to have wandered, and so Mister Metzger decides to wander as well, hoping to locate his wayward feline companion.
