I managed to get out to Buckstones and Wessenden Head on Saturday after work. Fridays snow was still lying on the tops and I wanted to test a second hand 17mm TSE lens that I had bought the day before. The corner sharpness is supposed to be fantastic. I didn't want to use the shift, just to get some sharp colourful shots. The Wessenden Head shots are all taken with my usual 25-104-which doesn't have sharp corners! the sun was setting behind the cloud in the west but there was plenty of colour. It was bitterly cold and all of a sudden there were three of us with cameras chasing the light.the other two guys had tripods but I like my freedom....
Managing Water and Land Resources for Sustainable Livelihoods at the Interface between Fresh and Saline Water Environments in Vietnam and Bangladesh
The project had five specific objectives:
1.To enhance their understanding of livelihood changes resulting from regional resources management and farm-level technological interventions.
2.
To assess the impacts of agricultural and aquacultural land and water uses on water quality, aquatic biodiversity, and inland fisheries.
3.
To develop ecologically friendly and socially acceptable techniques for rice and rice-aquaculture production systems.
4.
To develop decision-support tools and an institutional framework for integrated multipurpose management of a dual fresh- and brackish-water regime to meet the needs of diverse water users, without an adverse impact on users and the environment outside.
5.
To enhance human resources capacity and develop recommendations for resources management at the farm and regional level.
On February 20, 2020, USC IIGH hosted Francine Coeytaux, Founder, Plan C, for a presentation titled “Plan C: Reframing Self-Managed Abortion as Empowering Rather than Dangerous”
Francine Coeytaux will be discussing the global history of self-managed abortions using pills, starting in Europe and Brazil and then spreading to Asia and Africa, as well as the restrictions that exist in the US. The talk will shed light on why and how access to pills has been limited in the US and what you can do to improve access to self-managed abortion.

Francine Coeytaux, MPH, has worked for over 40 years to promote comprehensive reproductive health services, including abortion, internationally and domestically. She has pioneered the use of acceptability research to give voice to women and include their perspectives in the shaping of public health agendas. In 2018 she co- Founded Plan C, a groundbreaking campaign that shines a light on the over- medicalization and restrictions around abortion pills and advocates for a safe, effective self-managed option in the US.
Susan Benton manages the Crossroads Shopping Center and organizes the farmers market. This year there are a number of exciting events planned for every Tuesday.

Turning Vision Into Reality
Nothing could dampen the spirits of the 17-year-old who wanted to open his company in spite of Indian laws disallowing it, due to age bar. His cousin joined hands with him and that’s how his first company Educell came into existence.
Reminisces Shreyansh, “The decision to get into education business was taken carefully by considering all the statistics and data available – 25 percent IITians join financial firms, 20-25 percent get into marketing, 20 percent into consulting, 20 percent into applied engineering and 5-7 percent get into core engineering. These calculations showed us the opportunities in entrepreneurship in the education sector. We realized that India has only a few premiere institutes and students of small towns are unable to reach them due to lack of proper mentoring.”
Through his series of books, his company minted great revenue in a very short span and Sjain series, that unveiled the strategies followed by top IITians, became an overnight success. A year later, Shreyansh opened a company called QEA Eduventure Private Limited.
The new firm started reaping rich dividends and his bank balance started swelling. Driven by the desire to excel in life, he diversified his business to launch DMS Infosystems Pvt. Ltd. at the age of 19 and then his media firm, Next Generation Media (NGM).
Transcending Barriers
The family, understandably, was not happy with Shreyansh’s choice to earn while he was studying. His father completed Ph.D. from IIT-Mumbai while his son was pursuing graduation, but he was far from supportive. Some of the partnerships, despite doing well in revenues, proved disempowering, so he has to start all over again with heavy liabilities.

I managed to get a ton of photos uploaded today and that felt really good.
Christina managed to make it down the mountain and made some delicious stuffed mushrooms. Mom and dad worked hard all day to make a delicious roast. John threw some of that roast on the floor which is a detail that apparently shouldn't be left out.

Finally managed to get a trip in to Norfolk at the right time of year. Not difficult to find these but was spoiled on my first evening with fresh males perching in the sunshine.

First Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (ManagiDiTH) International Master's Programme Summer School. The event happened at Iscte from May to May 9, 2025. Iscte received students from the PIONEER Aliance partner Universities: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; Laurea University of Applied Sciences. This Master's programme is offered by Iscte-Sintra, School of Applied Digital Technologies.

The Chairperson and Managing Director- Dr Chii Akporji and Mr Thierno-Habib Hann, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call to the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing of the Republic of Nigeria, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) to introduce the New MD and discuss plans for the 42nd Annual General Meeting in Abuja, Nigeria. The meeting was also attended by the Honourable Minister of State for Works and Housing, Umar El-Yakub. The SHAF delegation was also accompanied by the Board Director representing Nigeria, Mr Olaitan Komolafe.
Later that day, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Aliyu Ahmed, attended a private audience with the Board Members and Management of Shelter Afrique”
