Following the PFDF in the internet brought back memories from my trip to Paris last Summer and I realised the thing I miss the most is macaroons! LOL. The problem is there isn't a single bakery around here that would sell decent macaroons so, haunted by cravings, I made some today myself! My hubby was pretty happy to have a selection of chocolate, pistachio, coconut and cherry macaroons waiting for him when he got home from work. :)

BTW: I used no artificial colourings and was surprised how much colour the ingredients gave to the macaroons.

I captured a pair of chickadees making a nest in this rotten tree, which was standing in the marsh water. The green color in the background is the algae from the marsh pond.

This bird is on duty pecking away at the tree, boring a hole and cavity in which to lay eggs and raise chicks. Its mate is taking a rest (last post) but soon they will switch places :)

Look carefully and you can see specks of wood on the bird's beak...

A "top-worker" of the quarry. He is preparing with a hydraulic press the rough paving stones that a colleague will refine with hammer and chisel.

Both are working in a team together and produce several cubic meters of stones each day. They are paid by the quantity (they have to make a given quantity per day so the length of the day will change according to their speed). Usually their salaries are about 6'000Sfr.

Yep...... making like a rock..... well trying ;0)

Image taken in the gravel driveway where a natural spring runs over it..... hence the water reflections and mud. I really need to get a pipe put in so it won't be mushy, icy in winter. The one good thing though is that crows bring their food there to soften it. (good for them that is.....like bread, pudding cups...ha, and whatever else they might scavenge from the neighborhood)

Two more scrappy stars done this week. I wish I were making faster progress on this... Of course, if I would practice some form of project monogamy, that would help... Still, I look forward to having this weekend off to sew.

While walking, I discovered this horse on the railroad tracks. It fascinates me to see what I find as I walk!

Making noise. The helicopter and speedboat are making noise to keep the tuna from escaping between the skiff and the Auro. The net is open until the Auro meets up with the skiff. Tuna naturally run away from the noise, therefore not escaping before the net is closed. This is not the Auro’s helicopter, but rather one from the StarKist fleet.

I had an idea and it turned out pretty darn close.

Manuel Lizarralde, associate professor at Connecticut College, taught kids and adults the art of crafting hunting and target bows. Manuel has made more than 400 bows over the last 25 years and is a skilled teacher of fledgling bowyers.

"I exist in the relations. Others create me and I am a reflection of others. I wanna be part of you - your body, your moment, your story, and your life. Once I met him. This encounter is still a memorable moment of something that moves me forward, let me dance and spin around. His body stucked to mine and we were breathing together. I have been embraced from inside, I became part of him. We were together, once and for ever."

As people stood, quietly reading over the 1517 names listed on the new Titanic Memorial today - the 100th anniversary of her sinking - most tended to stand back and simply observe. It was the children who tended to reach out to touch the plaques, and to trace their fingers around the letters. A timely reminder of the children whose names are included in this list.

One of the cooler things about Dollywood is the preservation of traditional crafts - and still allowing people to profit normally from them.
