As we walked along the beach we noticed the skimmers were getting a little nervous as other people walked nearer to them. They would takeoff and circle around, re-settling a little further up the beach. They did this several times as we observed them, making some great opportunities for in flight shot as they made another pass.
Have a great, blessed and safe weekend!

The Common Eiders and 2 Emperor Geese were on the same beach when I took this photo and all were very skittish. You couldn't even look at a Common Eider before it bolted into the ocean. They are heavily hunted up there so they view us humans as threats. I noticed this with all the eiders, ducks and swans in Nome. They were very unlike the waterfowl at home that we can walk right up to.
*Disclaimer - I am not at all against subsistence hunting of the Inupiaq. I fully support their cultural and hunting rights which are necessary for survival. I am just making a factual comment of what I observed.
Each day I sit a little closer to the feeder. They know I'm there, but the food is way too tempting. Wouldn't that be amazing if before summers end, I have them eating out of my hands?

I think cinema, movies, and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made film were magicians. Francis Ford Coppola

I cleared some room on one of my other drives to download some photos from my camera. I'll just edit them as needed until I can get my setup back to normal with a dedicated photography drive. Hopefully by early next week.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend my Flickr friends. Stay safe and keep the shutters clicking.
Nankeen Kestrel preening for my camera. Beautiful little falcon let me sit with him for at least 5 mins before another car scared him off. Twas beautiful.
I was in my garden this morning taking some snaps and tried to capture some Bees swarming around my bush. It's so hard to capture these wee critters as they just flutter about. I was determined to upload one of the pictures to compensate for my time and effort in shooting them...lol. I think this would be one of the better ones though I'm not happy with it but I'd made up my mind I'd pick one regardless...lol
