Vanity getting the better of me and so am posting a couple of final portraits from my makeover this week. I can assure you no AI - just a minor tweak on the eye and skin tone in Lightroom!
I absolutely adore having a makeover! There is something about being pampered as well as seeing yourself in a different light. I've not always posted pictures from these sessions (because I feel like I'm stealing unfair credit). But I have grown very envious of these earlier experiences. And am coming to the conclusion that time is fleeting.
Here are a few of my all time favorites.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: The Daniela on the left was in fact one of my very first Liv dolls. During the early summer/late spring of 2014, I stumbled across a few tempting Liv dollies in my Wal-Mart's clearance section. Most of the dolls were from the Twist & Dance line, with the exception of this beauty. I was actually planning on leaving her behind, since the dolls weren't that cheap (I want to say they were around $12 each). Anyways, my sister vouched for this Daniela doll. She convinced me that the spare robe would come in handy...and being a self professed doll clothes hoarder, I couldn't resist this offer. So Daniela joined the family, along with the three Twist & Dance dolls that were also there (Sophie, Katie, and another Daniela). At first, she wasn't one of my favorites. I found her to be bland comparatively. In part, this was due to the fact that her wig looked as though it had grey streaks in it. But later on, when I visited my Liv dolls in their container, I realized that Miss Daniela's hair had changed color. Her once granny like streaks had transformed to this magnificent pink color, which I was able to capture in this photograph. Her makeup also changed color--and her nail polish was visible. This transformation really made me appreciate how beautiful Daniela was. Ever since, even when her hair and makeup have returned to their bland state, I have been completely enamored by this doll.
I don't find Liv dolls all that often at my flea market. My collection has grown at a snail pace since I first began collecting Liv dolls in 2014. So even though this second Daniela, on the right, was a duplicate, I was thrilled to adopt her. Plus, it also worked out that I got a few Liv outfits along with her! She was included in the "Color Splash Hair Pocahontas lot" of 2016. I recognized her distinctive wig and makeup right off the bat. Weirdly, her original dress was not in the bin. However, she was still wearing her jewelry and her shoes. Not to mention I found her robe and belt floating around the container later on. This doll actually has so much versatility when it comes to being dressed. I never realized just how amazing Spa Daniela dolls looked in clothes! This doll's hair also smells delicious--the conditioner I used on her hair left a wonderful, lingering scent. I just love sniffing her hair every time we cross paths!
I had my first professional makeover at a local crossdressing service.
The results were just amazing, I really felt like a woman for the day.
Once my hair and makeup were complete, which took ages but I loved, I popped on a little black dress and heels, and went for a walk with the owner.
It was so nice walking in public with someone rather than alone.
I will definitely be doing it again!

Holy moly! This poor dear was a disaster when she arrived in the "Wondrous Wellie Wishers Lot" of 2023. She was the lone O.M.G. doll, and one of the newest plastic friends from the group. But despite her youth, it was clear that this Downtown B.B. had been played with a lot in her past life. Her hair is supposed to be parted into two ponytails. As you can see, all of it was brushed back into a very messy single pony. It was secured with a human sized hair elastic, which added to her disheveled appearance. I was very grateful to see that she still sported both hands. The few O.M.G. dolls I've encountered in the wild at flea markets are often missing them. That's obviously very unfortunate, since you can't order replacement parts for them through M.G.A. Instead, you are at the mercy of eBay/Mercari sellers who list them as parts...which is VERY pricey. I was very shocked when I identified these pieces Downtown B.B. was donning. I assumed they were mismatched garments. Both went to the same fashion pack for Barbie. The outfit itself is cute, but the fit was so poor on Downtown B.B. that it wasn't doing her any favors.
