Everett 11 chugs into Claysburg, PA with 2 loads of lumber in tow, destined for the team track here in town. The train could be considered very, *very* crudely street-running here, splitting the gravel Mainline Avenue in two.

Having made the turn after crossing the Cheyenne River (running along the base of the hillside in the distance), the four motors leading train #M-RCHU are now in launch mode as they begin to tackle Wall Hill. Well sort of, they at least sound like they are in launch mode because they are tackling Wall Hill, which is the ruling grade on the RCP&E's mainline. So while they will not exceed the 10 mph limit on this portion of line, they will be running all out (RPM's wise) dragging this eastbound up to Wall.

Though strictly speaking, I'm guessing you shouldn't lather the blueberry goodness. But I've kind of been in a lather this week, so it'll do.
Almost back to life, will catch up with everyone properly tomorrow. Hurray! :)

It seems that La Nina's lingering impact, with incessant grey skies and rain, might finally be waning. And in its place have been spectacular sunsets.
I headed a short way west to get some train shots with a sunset background.
This was my third shot, taken further west at Gatton. A fair bit of processing in Lightroom saw this result of a coal train running through to the port. 5 June 2022.
This is the I-5 corridor (called by many the mainline on the upper deck) looking south towards downtown Seattle from the university district on cold stormy evening. This is the main artery of I-5 heading in and out of Seattle and this also includes the express lanes featured in the middle below, which is somewhat of a misnomer because the traffic is always brutal here. In fact traffic was crawling when I took this shot. This part of the interstate is the ship canal bridge that spans lake Union. One of these days I'm hoping to hit some great light but I haven't had much luck from this spot, but I feel this one does reveal the cool steely side of the emerald city.

A hefty North Platte to Valley Park freight train pulls into Sioux City dead on hours. The train waited for the D&I to clear, and now crosses the BNSF and CN at the mix master diamonds in Sioux City. One can see alot goes on here as the CN/UP/BNSF all cross each other, going different ways for mainlines and industrial leads. It's cute!
