This image was captured on a late night adventure to see the milkyway. The shot ran for about an hour and thirty minuets. The camera was exposed to several headlamps walking around and illuminating the area and creating the pattern of lights at the bottom of the frame.
Taken with a Canon T3i with a 11-16 Tokina lens set to 11mm at F2.8 ISO 400 with a exposure of 30 seconds.
Marcel Proust
I captured this composite photo of four Geminid meteors on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, Rhode Island during the Geminid Meteor Shower. We had clear skies until clouds rolled in at 9:00 p.m. A quick clearing happened between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. after which heavy clouds and snow took over. I counted 50 Geminid meteors before packing up.

Today a friend of mine sold me an old beater of a 5X7 view camera - a no-name wood affair that looked nice, but was obviously an inexpensive alternative to a "serious" view camera. Still, it was wood and steel and many decades old, and my friend had fitted it with a brass "magic lantern" petzval style lens. Recently, the 5x7 factor had been calling to me with its unique sirens song and today I came crashing onto those rocks, willingly.
This is a quick test I did loading film holders with cut sheets of Multigrade RC paper. Rainy October light filtered through Forsythia - 30 seconds exposure, and this is where it took me. Yes - I think this is going to work nicely. :-)
My first proper stack using the SkyTracker. I chose an easy target, the area around Sadr in Cygnus, partly as I'm now very familiar with it, and partly because it's high in the sky, and away from the worst light pollution nearer the horizon.
This is an order of magnitude more data than my last attempt. Each sub frame is 24x longer than last time, allowing for lower ISO and a much better signal-to-noise ratio. Conditions last night were moderate - pretty good visibility, but strong wind, which caused enough camera shake to render over a third of the frames unusable. Light pollution here is strong at the moment - the Illuminations are bright and broadband, so contrast is reduced. But still - the emission nebulae are shining here. I'm pleased with this as a first tracked stack.
Please view larger (e.g. press L) as Flickr's compression gives small versions a crunchier look than the original.

I captured this shot of the cherry blossoms in bloom under star trails outside Ladd Observatory in Providence, RI on Tuesday, April 18th. Everything worked out nicely for this shot considering I needed clear skies, full cherry blossom bloom, and no wind to pull it off.

Here's a shot I captured of the Messier 2 globular cluster this past Friday (September 11, 2015) at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, Rhode Island, USA. Messier 2 is found in the constellation Aquarius and resides at near 37,500 light years distant. The cluster is comprised of around 150,000 stars and has an elliptical shape.

For the past 4 days, the sun cannot be seen until its is quite high. So what we seen during that 4 days is just thick haze and clouds. Finally today the sun is rising and shine despite the hazy and also misty weather right now.
Hopefully this haze thingy will fade away and we can see the beautiful sunrise as before. InsyaAllah.
This is the first image that I personally processed with surprisingly minimum step compared to my last image.
For this first image snce my conversion from NIKON to CANON, I only increase the exposure in Adobe Camera Raw and decrease the highlight just to eliminate highlighted over exposed area. Unsharp mask in the Photoshop and put the watermark. No extra layers needed. I'm happy with this natural look to preserved the mist.
Picture made of 4 different exposures (HDR) taken with a Canon 600D fitted with a 18-55 mm kit lens.
Taken from Penvins, Morbihan, Brittany, France.
Several weeks ago Vancouver got submerged by the fog. Now I know that foggy weather is my favourite type of weather. I can't wait for more fog.
This shot was taken from mount Cypress. I was surrounded by at least ten other photographers with tripods when we arrived there :D
Explored, woo-hoo! I am glad I could show that magical landscape to others.
Oh wow! Posted on r/CityPorn, a subreddit I am subscribed to as well!

Also, I use Magic Lantern on my camera because it's pretty awesome. Instead of using any shutter controlling devices I just literally told my camera to shoot and it began shooting because I set to react to a certain volume of noise.

This image represents what Flickr is like on the weekends. It feels empty 'round here weekend after weekend. Ya'll must be out doing something fun while the rest of us are hoping to check out some new photos. My weekends usually include a lack of plans and nothing to do, unless I make an effort to go do something (which is usually a photo adventure).
Also: Bear with me while I get this Lensbaby obsession out of my system. There are all these images that I've wanted to take for awhile that have involved the Lensbaby Composer Pro and I couldn't, until now.
After I took this shot I went home and installed Magic Lantern on the 5D MKIII. I played around with Dual ISO for a good part of the night and have concluded it's going to be a useful tool. The dynamic range you get from it is insane; pure insanity. Dual ISO would've helped with this image a bit since I shot it at ISO 6400. I think it'll come in more handy when I shoot at ISO 100 to ISO 400.
West Seattle, WA
The adventure started about 9 and my buddies and I arrived onsite about 2 hours later. The sky cleared and the stars came out. We found a great spot to track the north star with and setup there. The moon was out and making the landscape light up and revealing the colors of the rocks. The shot ran for about 2 hours and then wind went away leaving the shot undisturbed.
The star trail was captuered in the Ojito Wilderness studay area. The Ojito Wilderness is a desert landscape of steep-sided mesas, rocky terraces, retreating escarpments, box canyons, deep meandering arroyos, and austere badlands. Bands of multi-colored shale, sandstone, and limestone draw attention to cliff sides. Occasional badland settings, with their unusual hoodoos (weathered rock in the form of pinnacles, spires, cap rocks, and other unusual forms), accent the landscape. Piñon and juniper are dotted throughout the Wilderness, and rare stands of ponderosa pine can be found tucked into shady recesses.
The image was captured with a
Canon T3i using a Tokina 11-16 @ ISO 400 F/2.8 Exposure time of 30 seconds and a total of 160 images stacked.

Tweaked levels and added a very minor amount of data. Tried to be a little more subtle with the colors than the last version. Reduced the blown out stars and pulled a little more detail here and there.

Here is a composite image of 21 Geminid meteors and 1 potential coma berenicid meteor that I captured at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, RI on Friday morning, December 14, 2018 during the Geminid Meteor Shower peak. After cloudy conditions for nearly the entire night, the skies cleared around 3:30 a.m. and the Geminid shower exploded until sunrise. It was a fabulous end to a cold and cloudy night!

A first look at dual ISO
800 - 1600 using Auto ETTR function
Considering this was taken with my old Canon 500D, I'm amazed at the results. Some nicely preserved details in the shadows. No post processing apart from balancing the exposure up. As to be expected there is some loss of overall quality but the trade off is worth it....
Here's a striking shot I captured of Messier 8 - The Lagoon Nebula at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, Rhode Island, USA. M8 is found in the constellation Sagittarius and resides at 4,100 light years distant. An active star forming region, the Lagoon spans about 100 light years. It is one of two naked-eye-visible star forming regions in the Northern Hemisphere sky.

Bohus used seven cameras to shoot the Eclipse on Monday! Cameras included: Blackmagic Micro Studio 4K + Vivitar 300mm f5.5, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera + Tamron 70-210mm f3.5-4, Canon EOS M with Magic Lantern + Vivitar 200mm f3, Fuji XT-2 + 500mm Telephoto, GoPro with Ribcage Mod + Sony 12.5-75mm f1.8, Samsung Nx1 + 500mm Telephoto, and a Sony A7R II + 1250mm Telescope. Quite a complex shoot!
Check out our Fotodiox YouTube or Facebook page to see a video featuring the seven camera rigs that Bohus used to capture the Eclipse!
The new 5x7 camera with the magic lantern lens, making a paper negative. Grossly overexposed at twenty seconds - I just guessed. Salvaged an evocative image via Lightroom though.
