Magic Trackpad made it here today, enjoying using it so far but only time will tell if it gets much use over time. It feels very natural to use it for browsing the web and looking through photos - more serious work will still be carried out by my Magic Mouse :)

We are developing a ‘Magic Theater’ to experiment with new storytelling ideas, from shadow puppets to poetic robots. To support this program, I have built a mobile art cart where we can perform our shows, with the help of Geo Monley.
Mark ‘Spoonman’ Petrakis and I are starting with a shadow puppet play that we plan to perform during our Dada exhibit this fall at the Canessa Gallery in North Beach. Called ‘Ubu’s Dreams’, this shadow puppet show features Père Ubu, the hero of Alfred Jarry’s surreal plays at the turn of the last century. The premise is that Ubu is constantly dreaming, interacting with archetypal characters from our collective unconscious. Each of his dreams is a separate sketch in our play.

It's hard to explain the magic, but there is certainly something special about this place. It really should be the grand finale of your WDW visit, but we indulged ourselves for the first two days here. The other theme parks were great, but just didn't live up to this place. We skipped out of Hollywood Studios a little early on our last day and made one last trip here to take it in again.
Pattern: sort of the one on the lable (cuff down, heel flap).
Yarn: Lion Brand Magic Stripes in Stonewashed Blue Pattern
Needles: aluminum DPN's size #2 (the aluminum was what nearly killed these hands -- I've switched to bamboo and birch, and I'll let you know how things go)
Cast-on to cast-off: I can't really remember, but all together actual knitting time was 14 hours. I finished them on Tuesday morning at 2am.
Notes: These were knit as a sample for the Major Chain Craft Store. If I knit these for myself, I'd make the entire leg in 2x2 rib so that they wouldn't fall down. Also, they softened up like crazy when I washed them. They actually went from kind of stiff to quite cozy. I could hardly believe it myself! I would also make them mismatched, because I would find that charming. I just figured that if I was actually SELLING these, they should match perfectly.

The Magic Castle is a magicians' club in Los Angeles, where for over a century, magicians have learned, practiced and performed magic tricks of all sorts. The club is private and the public can only get in with a pass, provided by a member. These passes seem to be fairly easy to obtain - after all they need audiences to practice their tricks.
We were lucky to be invited last Saturday and were thrilled to see 4 very talented young magicians (ages 13-19) perform - and perform very well. The Magic Castle has a young magicians' program where talented youngsters are awarded apprenticeships
