Posted for Macro Mondays theme, "Leaf".
This little sprig measuring 2 inches wide by 3 inches long, contains tiny leaves that measure anywhere from 1/8th inch to 1/2 inch at the largest. The colors are true.

I had a visit today too, we stared at each other for quite a while.

Its the Bee's Knee's allright. This little fellow is searching for the best stuff he can find. And during this draught, its harder work than ussual for sure. Most plants are having difficulty keeping up with the weather. Some flowers are so dry allready, they feel like they've bin turned into paperflowers. Its pretty bizar really...
I was playing around with reflective macro photography several years ago, and created my "Treasured Island", with a tiny stone bracelet against a black background. It took some creative lighting to achieve the results shown here - but I have learned down through the years, that lighting can either make, or break, a photo.

It has been either raining our snowing in my boreal forest this week - so I captured this spruce tip just as a heavy wet snow began to melt.

To start this new month - we awoke to 3 degrees below zero this morning, and saw that Jack Frost had been busy overnight, painting everything with his frosty brush. In this photo you see a few thin strands of very tiny weeds, that he transformed into a thing of beauty. Since single digit temperatures will be the norm for awhile - I expect that the hoar frost will continue to grow and turn our landscape into a true winter wonderland.

Cropped my three-inch bird nest down to two inches and added three blue Cadbury mini eggs to give the appearance of a robin's nest.
