Zeiss Touit Macro f/13.0, 1.3 Second Exposure

Salmon tackle for Macro Mondays theme; "Gone Fishing".

I opened a huge old tackle box that we used for salt water salmon fishing many years ago. Inside I found lures both old and new. The old held much more appeal to me - so here is a tangle of hooks and lures that could tell some great tales, if only they could talk.

HMM to all of my MM friends.

Orb-weaver spiders are members of the spider family Araneidae. They are the most common group of builders of spiral wheel-shaped webs often found in gardens, fields, and forests. The English word orb can mean "circular", hence the English name of the group. Araneids have eight similar eyes, hairy or spiny legs, and no stridulating organs.

This shot shows that it was invited to 'in explore', however it was never listed on that page of Flickr. Oh well....

"According to the laws of aerodynamics, the bumblebee should not fly. But the bumblebee does not know this and simply flies anyway."

I love bumblebees.

"Nach den Gesetzen der Aerodynamik dürfte die Hummel nicht fliegen. Die Hummel weiß das aber nicht und fliegt einfach trotzdem."

Ich liebe Hummeln.

For Macro Mondays theme; "plastic".

I was going to title this "Life is just a bowl of cherries" - but since we are all going through a pandemic at this time - it just didn't seem appropriate.

Stay safe and healthy everyone, and a big HMM to all.

Danaus chrysippus, also known as the plain tiger, African queen, or African monarch, is a medium-sized butterfly widespread in Asia, Australia and Africa.

A tiny treble hook can spell danger for fish and humans. I watched as a small child of about three stood on a crowded bank full of fishermen, as they cast their hooks looking for salmon. Suddenly the child screamed as a hook had imbedded itself into the eyebrow of the child. The hook was taped into place, and the child whisked off to the hospital for the removal of the hook. I would say that fishing gear can be a huge "danger."

This image shows some grasses at the german Green Belt at an evening in last Juli. We planned to take images of some butterflies, but finally I only took some macro shots of the nature.

The tropics-loving showy zephyrlily grow from hardy bulbs that have naturalized in many parts of the Western Hemisphere. One odd trait Rain lilies share is that their star-shaped flowers come into bloom after it rains, hence the common name. With their array of flower colors, sweet fragrance, and synchronous blooming, these plants have become a popular option among gardeners and breeders.

My vintage gold nugget watch. These watches were very popular here in Alaska, back in the early seventies.

I managed to sneak my camera lens into the center of an artificial autumn bouquet, and found berries smaller than a 1/4 of an inch. With the right lighting, it looked like I was surrounded by a magical Lilliputian world.

For Macro Mondays theme: "Handmade".

I received this handmade Alaska Native doll for Christmas, way back in the nineteen eighties. She is superbly crafted, from the fur ruff that surrounds her face, right down to her mukluk footwear. The kuspuk she wears is a beautiful burgundy color with hand embroidered braiding. Since I have never seen another doll like her - I have kept her in mint condition.
