A close up of an Australian Native flower, a Grevillea. I just love the unusual shapes of these flowers.
These are 3 rings, gold, silver and metal! They are mainly in natural light with a highlight from an LED video-light.

went out yesterday to give my macro gear a run out for this year, the wind got up very blustery a crap day, this is the best i could do on the day, ah well always another day.
My hands are not as steady as they once were, so this macro came out somewhat blurry, but I loved the shading and hidden light in it, so I played around with it to save it. I like the result, even if a bit too noisy.
I added bokeh to give it some additional interest, and used an Orton-like filter in post processing to redden the tones a little, since the flower was more red on the outside than pink, but photographed very magenta.
Details were brought up using a sharpen tool and mascara tool, as well as an eyebright tool on some of the stamen parts. I used a noiseware program to help with the noise the sharpening brought up, as well as an airbrush tool in select areas around the center of the flower.
Bear in mind this is an art piece, as you can see by the poor quality of the SOOC shot. I enjoy salvaging something from nothing, and this certainly was a nothing shot!
Should be viewed large. I have been trying to photograph one of these for some time and finally succeeded. They are very difficult to sneak up on with those massive eyes!
The Digitalis or Foxglove is poisonous to both humans and animals and yet it is also used in medicine. They grow in my garden in quite large numbers.
