Trying out my "new" macro lens, it's a 1980's "Elicar V-HQ Macro MC 90mm f/2.5 1-1" with an FD mount and a glass free, macro only, converter to EOS. Whilst not up there with the legendary "Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5" it does seem to produce some pretty sharp images - and it only cost me £26 on eBay, the Vivitar will probably fetch close to £200! I've also invested in a Ring Flash and this is the first photo I've taken with this combination, it's hand-held at night of one of those small-ish spiders that spin webs everywhere at this time of year, no cropping of image above, though I've added one below.

At work spinning the web. Every now and then I catch a spider doing this - fascinating to watch, all those eight legs doing their thing together,,,

May your legs and eyes be plentiful and your webs filled with small dead things.

Been watching this one for a week or so. A little more "trash" every day...

I didn't initally have enough pictures to post one a day for all of Arachtober, but I've been finding spiders pretty much every day this month (in my house...) I've got more pictures now that I know what to do with!

It's really a challenge to shoot this little guy. He was hiding in between the leaves and moving around, and when I had a good chance to shoot him, there came the wind. Then he started to run away and jumping from leaf to leaf and at one point, turn around and look at me. And that was when I got this shot. Lucky me.

You probably will be seeing more macros from me. :)

Another shot of the spider web structures between the glass and aluminium frame of my greenhouse door. Focus stacked using zerene. Possibly made by a running crab spider

Little guy the wife found in the garage...

Checked my ivies out, (some people hate ivy, I love it! makes the garden wall more green and soft), and was surprised at the amount of spider webs there are.

Spring is definately here in the UK!

Picked up a blade of grass and decided to 'tease' one of the webs. Had but a split second when this 'beasty' shot out to grab a shot before she retreated back down her 'funnel'!

Thankyou to Mauritius100 for the flash diffuser ideas and the inspiration to take some wildlife macro shots. (Do check Mauritius's work should you get the opportunity, when I get as good as that, I'll be happy!)

Here's the same spider seen from a bit farther away.
