The web of domination has become the web of Reason itself, and this society is fatally entangled in it. ~Herbert Marcuse~

I was looking for the Wasp Spider this morning in the meadow, could't find her. Then I discoverd, she had dicided to live in my garden...

it is waiting for victim

Decided to order a new lens, as quite enjoying the macro

Just our ordinary garden variety spider - the Orb Spider!

I hate spiders but this tiny fellow I find cute. Can't help it... so we danced the whole night ;-)

I especially love those big eyes.

HMM everyone!

along came a S---- sat down

Spiders seem quite willing to wait patiently for any fly-by lunch, so they tend to remain motionless while I move close enough to capture my images. I liked how the strands of the web almost disappear.

It is a short fight ..... the bigger brown end up as a lunch to the smaller black spider.

As we can't go out my little friend come to visit me inside ;)

Clown spider

A weird camouflage for a very tiny spider.

Syrphid flower fly and tiny spider on a wedelia flower. One of those images that reveal more on the computer screen than on the camera screen...

At least I think that’s what it is.

he Golden Orb Weaving Spiders build large, strong orb webs with a golden sheen.

Golden Orb Weaving Spiders are large spiders with silvery-grey to plum coloured bodies and brown-black, often yellow banded legs.

"A spider lives inside my head Who weaves a strange and wondrous web Of silken threads and silver strings To catch all sorts of flying things, Like crumbs of thoughts and bits of smiles And specks of dried-up tears, And dust of dreams that catch and cling For years and years and years..."

Shel Silverstein

I have a special place in my heart for most spiders, but I especially love little jumping spiders. When I captured this image, I'd only had my macro lens for a short time. The whole world seemed even more enchanting when going small game hunting.

Here's to letting our small eight legged friends cohabit peacefully with us.

A small spider on my clematis "The President" :o)
