this insect was one of a more or less stationary 'herd' of about fifty. still don't know what the white feathery growth is on its back. as part of the herd it looked like some kind of fungal growth on a tree limb, which I guess is the point of the growth. anyone know any more about it?

This tiny insect has perched on what looks like a convenient twig. It is actually a large net casting spider, which does not seem to notice a potential lunch sitting right on its elbow!
