My goal for the week of vacation was to get a Macro shot of a TICK!! so I made my goal!! we had MANY ticks over the entire week. to get this shot we placed it on a napkin....it kept following Amanda's finger as it seeks out warmth....OK it seeks out our blood! it actually moved quite fast and was difficult to capture but this is a Wood Tick...they do NOT die, they are very difficult to kill. This one was flushed down the toilet....

A larger crop on the same dragonfly.

Cameras has been part of smart phones now a days so i lost the interest in taking pictures using my old entry level DSLR. i had been busy with other interests as well (triathlon, firearm shooting etc) so i totally give up my interest in learning digital photography. Somehow my interest in taking pictures came back again just recently and so i bought a mirrorless camera and now busy again playing with my new toy:)

An earwig found in a dog water bowl. Shot through the eyepiece of a stereo microscope just by holding an iPhone up to it. Kind of fidgety way to do it. There are holders to mount an iPhone to the eyepiece but most people say they don't work that well.

Have you ever watched ants busy gathering juices of peony buds? I have.. For a couples of days actually, I have spent some time watching them fight over drops of juice and busily crawling all over my peony. Both days quite windy and it was a challenge to take macro shots, but I have managed to get a few good ones (I hope) despite constantly changing light and wind moving my subjects and them moving all the time...

If someone can identify the species, I'd like to know. It does not look like anopheles or culex to me but I'm not sure. (She's quite alive in this photo, by the way.)

Le printemps est revenu dans les parcs et jardins de Rennes...c'est la saison des amours....

This spider suddenly came out of his web whilst I was photographing him, but was only there long enough to get 2 shots before retreating into his web

aparently this window was yummy, cause the bee kept on licking it.
