This is one of those shots you know exists at CAS's rainforest dome, but you have to be lucky to get it.
La Iphuclides podalirius, juntament en la Macaón, son uns dels lepidòptersles mes grans d'europa, poden arribar fins a 8 cm d'envergadura.
Les ales son de color groc o blanc-groguenc, sobre el qual destaquen les llamatives bandes negres logitudinals, les ales posteriors poseeixen, ademés, un gran ocel blau parcialment envoltat de negre i roig i una cua molt llamativa.
Este individu, "Chupaleche"(en castellà), ho he buscat però encara no sé perque ha agafat este nom.... presenta una part de la cua mossegada... algun insecte s'haurà apoderat furtivament del que hi fa falta.

First speckled wood butterfly of the year arrived in the garden today so I thought I'd start getting it used to the camera. These butterflies are territorial and tend to hang around the same area for weeks.
Red Admiral butterfly. Think I was as suprised to see this as it was to see me. I was trying to photograph a drone fly - failed, turned round and this was about 12 inches away from my face. Love those hairy eyes. 4 shot focus stack using zerene
