Returning to the archives from our April 2015 holiday in Western Australia
I designed this text mosaic of the Apple logo for Steve Jobs. I was really bummed when I found out he died. I thought about doing something to celebrate his crazy life and amazing contributions to our world. Most of my ideas were pretty cheesy, well really lame os more like it. So I did nothing. This idea however seemed kinda cool to me. I used Wordle (awesome) or part of it, got some text from Wikipedia and then filled in the blanks in Adobe Illustrator. Anyway, thank you Steve, rest in peace.

For me the best example of what makes Apple special is the old Mac Pro. When designing a tower, the aim is to develop a machine that’s expandable and often form follows function in the cheapest possible way. Apple’s tower is the a piece of brilliant design full of fantastic touches. The ability to expand it without any tools. Plastic pieces edging pressed metal sections to that you don’t cut yourself. Sliding draws to make replacing hard disks simple. Even labelling to help you understand where things go. Most of this is never seen. Yet Apple’s designers didn’t compromise. The internal of a product should be as well designed as the externals. This is something few in the business can match. For me the Mac Pro tower is another Apple design classic.

This is where I was for 7 straight hours on Sunday. I've never worked with Final Cut Pro before, but I took a videography class this semester to learn it. Not sure if the class is helping, but the 7 hours of messing around and figuring things out might be. Spring Break ended, and I instantly became one million times busier.
P.S. The @One lab in the new UNR Knowledge Center is pretty damn awesome. Mac Pros, fully loaded with any program you could ever imagine needing.

Day 1 of our Perth Australia Holiday
Did some spring cleaning today, including clearing my desk completely and giving it a good pledging (ooh it's so smooth and slippery now!), and cleaning all the dust out from inside the octopus.
I wish it was possible for me to keep my desk this tidy all the time, but it's never gonna happen. There's already a load of other shit on it and I haven't even been doing any work!
