Not bad… Connection is great.

Sound is low in volume and quality of the sound is nothing that impresses me, and not worth the price of 200 euros, there are a lot cheaper better sound alternatives, but these will stay in use.

My B&W C5 have a lot better sound quality and they are 50 euros less, but not wireless.

Will wait to see the apple new earbuds when they become available.

UPDATE: Playing with some rubber tips, the sound is not bad with the right rubber tips the sound is more proeminent on the bass, reception distance is very good.

Iodine Bonnet (Mycena filopes), at Sparrite Common, Rackham, West Sussex England

This is my "Early 2008 Mac Pro" with 2 Quad-Core Intel Xeon 3.2 ghz processors, 16gb Ram, 2.5 tb disk space (two 500gb disks striped for speed, 500gb boot disk, 1tb WD "green" disk for Time Machine backups), 30" cinema display, 24" and 20" dell monitors, dual NVidia GeForce 8800 GT video cards. The monitors and Mac Pro are plugged into a 1100watt UPS (which you can't see in the picture). I was asked for the picture, so here it is.

Also in the picture are my elderly 17" Mac Book Pro (1st generation intel), Xbox 360, and my Sony TV, where I've been watching the Olympics. Oh, and my iPhone (edge). :-)

Also, the picture on the wall behind the computer is a limited edition print signed by Kimi Räikkönen after he won the 2007 Formula 1 championship with Ferrari. I ordered this from Europe last year and paid way too much for it. :-P The print is called "Winner Take All" by the artist Nicholas Watts.

Anyway, this is my "Pixel Rig" and it's a real joy to work on. I do a lot of photography stuff (Lightroom and Photoshop, etc) and software development on it, so I pretty much use the crap out of it. :-)

More from our backlog, returning home from our 2014 Summer Holiday in Scotland

Spott Parish Church (Kirk), East Lothian Scotland, is one of a several areas within Scotland, where some of our ancestral families called home.

I've moved from my old digs, in the process gaining a lot of open, comfy space. The computers are now behind the wall there, so fan and drive noise is entirely gone (was actually very loud with my previous setup... those Dell machines may be fast, but they're loud); I can walk behind the wall and have direct access to the Macpro or either of the linux servers quite easily.

The desk goes 2 ft left at the inside corner there where the Yamaha stereo fits, and extends 6 feet to the right, 8 feet in total. From the corner, I have six more feet before it turns into Deb's desk — we each got 1/2 the space, which works really well.

The Macpro normally drives six monitors, but (I guess) I broke one when moving, it wouldn't power up -- so what you see here is five Macpro displays and one of the security monitors. That'll change after a while.

To the right of my desk is a 3 foot by 4 foot tall shelf, on top of which I have my camera bag; the shelf holds various things I like to have handy. Deb's arrangement is similar, but she has a six-foot shelf, and has also slid a filing cabinet under the desk. The only things under my desk are a guitar amp, which rolls out on wheels, and the 12" subwoofer for my Macpro/Yamaha audio system.

The west wall has the door to the room, and the freshwater through-wall fish tank. It's very pleasant having the fishies in the office! I've also hung up a couple of guitars so that I can jam out whenever I'm so motivated. I use Logic Pro and Flying Haggis on the Macpro, and there's a Fender Twin under the desk, too.

I expect this will change a bit over the next months, I'll re-post as it evolves.

I cut the 1.20 x 0.60 VIKA AMON to 1.10 x 0.60 to fit the wall space, and have no regrets over that decision. I don't miss any of the area suntracted after cutting the desk, since I am using the extra shelf as a monitor stand and can hide the keyboard under it.
