Through a broken window on the basement level in the NW corner of the building, I could see a vintage lamanating machine and a lot of other old trash. Perhaps it was the former teacher's workroom?
This photo was taken during the last week of operation of the Asheville Mica Company, established in 1899. Mica dust was a sea of glitter in the air. These old machines remind me of weird Japanimation cartoons like Steamboy.

The only surviving Mark 2 Metropolitan Police Box in the world. It was this model that Doctor Who's TARDIS time machine was based on in 1963. Sadly it's not in very good condition at the moment and is in need of refurbishment.
The Police Box is Grade II listed, the listing by Historic England says "GV II A Mark 2 Metropolitan Police Box. Designed by Gilbert Mackenzie Trench and manufactured 1930-1937. Pre-cast concrete. Square plan, each face identical, with 6 lower panels and 2 small glazing bar fixed lights above. The doorway is the right half of the east face. The whole surmounted by a blue light. This box was originally sited on the North Circular Road, London, and it was removed to its present site in 1983."

A sensational model in the London Science museum. The entire "Shop" is driven by a large steeple type engine at one end. . Lineshafts and belts convay drive to about 75 machines. All of which actually could be used to make tiny metal parts.
