I love the amazing colors of a Macaw.

Found this stunning looking macaw on the Pacific Beach San Diego and could not help but capturing it !!!

These were some of the permanent residents at our resort in Borneo at the Rasa Ria. They happily sat on some of the lower branches well within the reach of my 250mm lens so I spent quite a bit of time and used up lots of pixels taking many, many shots. With the angle of shooting almost straight up I needed a quick visit to the chiropractor once I got home.

Scarlet macaw (Ara macao)

These people had eight or so macaws that they were allowing to fly above the reservoir wall. I'm not sure which species they all were.

Macaws are small to large, often colourful New World parrots. Of the many different Psittacidae (true parrots) genera, six are classified as macaws: Ara, Anodorhynchus, Cyanopsitta, Primolius, Orthopsittaca, and Diopsittaca. Previously, the members of the genus Primolius were placed in Propyrrhura, but the former is correct as per ICZN rules.[1] Macaws are native to Mexico, Central America, South America, and formerly the Caribbean. Most species are associated with forest, especially rainforest, but others prefer woodland or savanna-like habitats.
