I hope everyone has enjoy my pictures so far.
A beautiful hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) sitting on a branch in the Parque Aves, Foz do Iguacu, Brazil. They are an endangered species caused by habitat loss and capture for the pet trade.

Primolius maracana
This smallish Macaw was only seen once on our travels - the site was a regular area, but sadly the breeding tree has fallen over and the birds are now more erratic in their appearances.
A triplet of Macaws flying over the east of Caracas. This Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) seems to be paired with a Blue and Yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna). I've seen it flying over since 2011. This is the third time I've had the chance to see it.
Macaws are long-tailed, often colourful New World parrots.[1] Of the many different Psittacidae (true parrots) genera, six are classified as macaws: Ara, Anodorhynchus, Cyanopsitta, Primolius, Orthopsittaca, and Diopsittaca. Previously, the members of the genus Primolius were placed in Propyrrhura, but the former is correct in accordance with ICZN rules.[2] Macaws are native to Central America (especially Mexico), South America, and formerly the Caribbean. Most species are associated with forests, especially rainforests, but others prefer woodland or savannah-like habitats.

Apart from the Bird of Paradise family, I think that this is (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful birds on the planet. It is a shame that as per usual Homo sapiens have hunted this beautiful creature into almost extinction.
