Auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Dampflok-Ausbesserungswerk in Braunschweig befindet sich der Lokpark der VBV (Verein Braunschweiger Verkehrsfreunde e.V.). Der Lokpark beherbergt vereinseigenen historischen Züge. Höhepunkt eines jeden Jahres sind sicherlicher die im Sommer immer stattfindenden Oldietage.
Der Lokpark beherbergt eine große Auswahl aller möglicher Schienenfahrzeuge wie Dampf- oder Diesellokomotiven (z.B. V170, V65, Köf) sowie Triebwagen (z.B. VT08.5), aber auch eher außergewöhnliche Schienenfahrzeuge wie z.B. einen Schienen-Opel, ein Schienenfahrrad, Schienenbagger oder ein Schienendrehkran. Bei Veranstaltungen sind häufig auch Gastlokomotiven und Züge zu sehen.

The Imperial Palace of Goslar (German: Kaiserpfalz Goslar) is a historical building complex at the foot of the Rammelsberg hill in the south of the town of Goslar north of the Harz mountains, central Germany. It covers an area of about 340 by 180 metres. The palace grounds originally included the Kaiserhaus, the old collegiate church of St. Simon and St. Jude, the palace chapel of St. Ulrich and the Church of Our Lady (Liebfrauenkirche). The Kaiserhaus, which has been extensively restored in the late 19th century, was a favourite imperial residence, especially for the Salian emperors.

Das Martineum gehört zu den ältesten Schulen Deutschlands. Im Jahr 1545 wurde die frühere Pfarrschule zur ersten städtischen Schule Halberstadts umgewandelt.
1947 wurde im Zuge der Schulreform zum Zusammenschluss des Martineums mit dem Domgymnasium (Stephaneum) vereinigt, die Schule erhielt den Namen Dom- und Ratsschule (DORA). Während der DDR-Zeit wurde die Schule 1964 in „EOS Bertolt Brecht“ umbenannt. Das Martineum erhielt am 23. April 1992 während der Martineumstage seinen alten Namen zurück. Am selben Tag erhielt der ehemalige Direktor Harald Schiller eine Urkunde, die das Gebäude als Denkmal ausweist.
Zum Schuljahr 2023/2024 wird die Schule mit dem zweiten Halberstädter Gymnasium (Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium) aufgrund sinkender Schülerzahlen fusionieren. Das Gebäude des Martineums wird als Hauptsitz fungieren.[
