Die ehemalige Stiftskirche St. Mauritius in Hildesheim ist eine katholische Pfarrkirche auf dem nach ihr benannten Moritzberg, 107 m über dem Meeresspiegel und anderthalb Kilometer westlich der Altstadt. Ihre Pfarrei gehört zum Dekanat Hildesheim des Bistums Hildesheim. Die 1058–1072 errichtete frühromanische Basilika ist ohne wesentliche äußere Veränderungen erhalten. Das Innere ist jedoch seit dem 18. Jahrhundert barockisiert.

Der Alte Elbtunnel wurde 1911 eröffnet und verbindet die Landungsbrücken mit dem Hafengebiet in Steinwerder. Radtouristen und Fußgänger durchqueren den Tunnel rund um die Uhr kostenlos.

The Wöltingerode monastery estate has been famous for its fine wines from the monastery distillery since 1682. Cistercian nuns introduced the art of distilling and made exquisite liqueurs, bitters and the fine grain stored in wooden barrels from fine wheat brandy.

Umgestülpter Zuckerhut...
Das Fachwerkgebäude zeichnet sich durch kühne Auskragungen an drei Fassadenfronten aus. Die dadurch sich in der Ansicht nach oben verbreiternde, umgekehrt konische Form soll an einen auf den Kopf gestellten Zuckerhut erinnern. Grund für die ungewöhnliche Bauweise war die Ausnutzung eines kleinen Grundstücks. Das Erdgeschoss des Hauses hat eine Grundfläche von nur 17 m², während das zweite Obergeschoss eine Fläche von 29 m² aufweist.

Although inland from both Lake Huron's Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe, the township contains the Muskoka Lakes consisting of Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph, amongst many other smaller lakes.
