In my attempt to make Disney World Glow, I give you this... Rockin' Rollercoaster Glowing! I love this ride. Especially since this is the only ride in all of Walt Disney World that will send you upside down. "I like that idea!" I'm all for the exciting and adventurous rides. I do like me some classic dark rides, but when I need to get some thrill on, Hollywood Studios houses two of the best. I'm getting to love that park more and more. I am sad to see so many things go away before we get the new things like.... blog.digitalelegance.com/glowing-rockin-guitar/

Of late, I've found myself attempting to get more out of RAW files, to bring out more natural beauty of images, the shadows, the soft light, and motion. I've gone back to reprocess, or just process, some older shots that I was never really completely happy with. This image is a single RAW, plain and simple...and I think i'm finally happy with it. The previous version of this shot was an HDR, and while I love HDR (don't get me wrong), I felt it didn't really capture the landscape very well.

I think this week, I'll just put out some old shots that I've reprocessed and anyone viewing this stream can feel free to voice their opinions and preferences. Thanks a lot...

I love HDR, But not the highly Saturated look, Keeping it natural and original is what i like :)

Dont miss the Large View

3 exposures Shot at -2, 0 and 2 Handheld

Converted to HDR in photoshop.

- One layer to highlight the Blue saturation

-One layer to increase the Grass vibrance

- little Dodge and burn on the haunted house

Your Suggestions are always welcome.

Continuing my occasional Newport Harbour photos. Here, I'm trying a blend of a 5 shot HDR (using HDR Efex Pro) and then blending that output with one of the original exposures in Photoshop. This gets rid of some of the "extremes" of HDR while keeping the benefits... I love HDR textures, rusting streaks etc, but often don't like skies and water (but there are exceptions!). I also used a circular polarising filter to saturate the colours and bring out cloud and water details. This is a "learning curve" for me, but HDR+normal looks promising at this early stage for me! (... And sorry about the slight ghosts on the moving ship!)

What sit-down restaurant in Hollywood Studios is your favorite?

One morning, I was walking around Hollywood Studios looking for new things to take photos of. I'm kinda lucky in that pretty much everything here in the World is new to me and worth taking photo of. I walked into a place I had heard about and have been excited to see since I got here. The Sci-Fi Diner. The outside of this place doesn't...

Where in the Magic Kingdom is your favorite quiet place?

The other day as I was taking photos of Magic Kingdom before opening, I ventured back from Frontierland toward Liberty Square and I saw this. There's something peaceful about the Rivers of America in the morning. The sound of the water from Harper's Mill can be heard rushing down so clearly when there are no guests. I love the parks when they are full of people and the hustle and bustle is fun, but...

Have you been to the Top of the World in Bay Lake Tower?

This one evening I somehow sneaked (I thought it was snuck) into an elevator bound for the top floor of the Bay Lake Tower. I wasn't complaining because that's exactly where I wanted to go, but I wasn't a vacation club member. A lady came in and pressed her magic band to the panel and off we went. I got off and watched the...

Do you "Fall" in love with the Magic Kingdom Decorations?

Once again I was kicked out of the Magic Kingdom. Security was tight after the park had been extended an hour. I didn't want the extension. It meant that I would be leaving the park later than expected and that most people wouldn't be as nice as they usually are at the end of the night for photographers with tripods. Although, the plus side meant that no one else would be lingering in my shots...

Do you think those are ghosts?

One great morning I was in the Magic Kingdom before the park opened to guests and I was taking photos. I ventured over to Mansion and found a Cast Member Tour going on. I followed them for a bit, but had to keep going to get photos of the hardest place in the queue to photograph, the foyer. There is so much throughput here that is is almost impossible to get it with the doors closed or without any guests at all, not to mention the...

Are you sad to see Halloween leave already for Christmas?

I decided to use this photo over others because I feel the Halloween wasn't here long enough. As I was getting pushed out of Magic Kingdom, I stopped to get this one last shot It was already after midnight and the park was supposed to close two hours before that, but got extended and then we were taking pictures until an hour after that. I'm sad to see Halloween go, even though I'm really...

Out for a drive today, on one of the first clear sunny days we've had in quite awhile. Spotted this and screeched to a halt... in the entrance of a run down auto repair shop! Hard to believe that something this pretty could be so close to a filthy garage with a dozen wrecked cars in the yard. I've come to realize that through photography, we create a fantasy world. Might be a beautiful fantasy - or just the opposite, but with the lens we get to choose!

HDR from 4 exposures, 1/2 stop apart. Shot with my T1i, EF 70-200 f2.8L IS lens. Processed with HDR Photostudio (AWESOME), with additional flavoring in CS4, Topaz, NIK Viveza 2. Can't believe how much I love HDR Photostudio!
