Dried fish is a common sight in Lofoten.
But only when the fish decided to come and visit. Each year it's a bit different. By now the drying racks will be full.

I find that the Flickr map is wrong about 50% of the time when it comes to rural areas, lol. The address of the Park is in Brighton, Iowa.

Easing downgrade, just managing to beat the encroaching shadows we see twin TR Class units 13 + 09 with train 32 in tow as it prepares to negotiate the horseshoe curve near Andover as it heads North with the scheduled load of paper products from Boyer to Burnie.

Power lines running from the nuclear power station at Dungeness. I assume these also carry power from the nearby Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm.
……A good time of the year with minimal leaves about and low winter sun to get nice long shadows - taken at Attingham Park (N/Trust) on my phone in Apple RAW & edited in Lightroom. Alan:-)…….

This is a mobile phone shot taken late afternoon on a frosty December at a place I walk by often. I tried on several occasions to catch the same frosty long shadow scene with my Nikon DSLR but was unable to. I was disappointed but there's always another time, the moral of the story is always carry your camera with you. Jackson poses by the old kirks long shadows on the fringe of Dalkeith Country Park.
Out for a walk the other morning with a simple set up of one camera, one lens. The broken clouds, windy conditions and bright sunlight, were providing an ever changing scene, with pools of light flitting around the field highlighting different areas.

The Fraser River is the longest river within British Columbia, Canada, rising at Fraser Pass near Blackrock Mountain in the Rocky Mountains and flowing for 1,375 kilometres (854 mi), into the Strait of Georgia just south of the City of Vancouver. The river's annual discharge at its mouth is 112 cubic kilometres (27 cu mi) or 3,550 cubic metres per second (125,000 cu ft/s), and each year it discharges about 20 million tons of sediment into the ocean.
The river is named after Simon Fraser, who led an expedition in 1808 on behalf of the North West Company.

This pier sits high and dry as the water level lays low
The Salmon Arm Wharf was constructed in 1907, now over 100 years ago in order to deal with the large mudflats and swampy areas that exist at the head of Shuswap Lake.
This large 440-foot pier is situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake and actually holds, not only the title of 'Largest Wooden Wharf in British Columbia and Canada' but holds the title of 'Largest Wooden 'fresh water' Wharf in North America'.
