The arrival of aid at the airport isn't the end of the story. The earthquake means that some roads are impassable. The delay in help arriving means that people have gone for days with very little food and drinking water. Distribution of food and other items could pose security issues as the numbers needing help combined with their desperation could lead to riots. Credit Hough/Caritas 2010
