This patch was used by the United States Army's 311th Logistical Command from 1955-1968.
Since 1968 this unit has had several other designations:
311th Support Brigade (1968-1980)
311th Support Command (1980-2006)
311th Sustainment Command (2006-current)
This is a photograph from the first loop of the town, after the start, in the 17th Longford Marathon, Half Marathon, Ultra, Relay and 5KM events which were held in Longford Town, Co. Longford, Ireland on Sunday 19th of August 2018 from 10:00 onwards. The event is tagged as 'the friendly marathon in the heart of Ireland' with Longford town full embracing the influx of runners from far and wide for marathon day. All races start and finish on Longford main street (close to the Longford Arms Hotel) and follow various routes west of Longford town itself. The marathon takes in three counties (Longford, Roscommon and Leitrim) and two provinces (Connaught and Leinster). The marathon and ultra marathon also cross the mighty River Shannon. The logistical management of the event is considerable and is undertaken with professional precision to accommodate the needs and demands of so many different races converging on the same area from different routes. The weather today was dull and overcast but very mild and humid which is not always best for distance running. However the course had plenty of water stops with ample provisions for everyone.

As mentioned on some of my previous pictures, our latest trip to NYC coincided with Macys 90th TGDP.
Because of the terror threat hanging over all our heads the fantastic NYPD had all cross streets blocked on the route, this made for some amazingly quiet New York Streets, it was like being in a zombie movie, or an end of the world movie.
Such an eerie surreal experience.
Logistic Support Vessel 2 – U.S. Army Vessel CW3 Harold A. Clinger, manned by a 163rd Transportation Detachment crew, got underway from its homeport at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on June 2 to conduct the first of eight surface lifts between Kaneohe Bay and Kawaihae Harbor in support of 3rd Marines as part of the biennial Rim of the Pacific 2014 exercise. LSV-2 will also partner with 25th Infantry Division's 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, for casualty evacuation operations and a shipboard aerial resupply with the New Zealand Navy, and conduct Logistics over the Shore operations during RIMPAC 2014.
