blocks made with the tutorial by Red Pepper Quilts (www.redpepperquilts.com/2011/11/now-back-to-some-regular-...)
This original Settlers Cabin was built in 1782 and has been rebuilt using 8-of it's original logs. It stands near its original location in the Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
This quilt drove my Mum to distraction. Made by machine but hand quilted it's made in flannel & backed with a glorious red!
This was my very first quilt, made in the late 70's from left over dress fabrics. My friends and i were prolific sewers for our daughters. I didn't understand about light and shade,so each square ( sewn to a foundation square ) was made up of two colours and then matched with three others to form larger blocks of colour. It was well used for many years with all the girls remembering their favourite dresses and the occasions they wore them. It now shows signs of distress and i am wondering if it should be repaired.
Taken MAY 10, 2008 in Eustace, TX .
Log cabin on the square
Not a word about it -- not on a sign nor from people I asked.
This little water-wheel building is just down the road from our house. I've driven past it for years and it never gets old to see. The Color is pretty muted and the sun hadn't risen enough to cast much light so I opted for this black and white. It reminds me of a simpler time.
Pillow for my sister and brother-in-law for Valentine's Day.
The center fabric is kimono cuties from superbuzzy. The other fabrics are linen.
