I'm really enjoying making these - I hope i'll be able to keep going and make a double quilt (maybe a bit ambtious!)
The Genesee Museum is a living history museum near Rochester New York. I've been there three times and see something different every time. One of the big attractions for me this year was a group of people dressed in period Bavarian Alps type costumes playing Alpine Horns. The sound was just glorious! This lady was inside a period log cabin and was preparing some type of beans for cooking. It was very dark inside the cabin. All of the buildings in this village were brought from all around the state and reassembled to preserve them and for educational purposes. We spent the whole afternoon here and did not see but about 1/3 of everything! :)

When I stepped around the corner of a log cabin porch at a local historical site, this deer spotted me at about the same time that I spotted her.

My camera decided to lock in focus on the daddy long legs on the right instead of the logs. Didn't catch that right away.
Wirtanen Historic Farm
i've been working on this pillow for a while. due to sewing machine problems and a lack of free time, it didn't get finished until now. i'm somewhat happy with it. i tried out a variegated machine quilting thread for the first time and i'm not totally happy with it. i liked how the quilting on the other pillows was a bit more subtle. but i still like this one - i mean, it has heather ross, amy butler and denyse schmidt fabrics so it's virtually impossible not to like! (at least in my opinion...)
loved this quilt so much i made a second one. always regretted selling the first one. made it bigger this time too! blogged at www.tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com
