The George Haag family home located about 3 tenths of a mile west of the intersection of North St. and Winchester Rd., on the south side, in the Town of Neenah. The family arrived circa 1867. They are not on the 1862 plat map but they are on the 1873. In 1873 they had 60 acres in Section 19. They are also on the 1897 and 1902 plat maps in the same location. The 1900 directory shows George Haag owning 60 acres. The 1905 plat map shows they are gone. When the log cabin was raised the Twin City News Record ran a story but the date was not preserved.

Blocks layed out for my log cabin quilt

From Moab we drove to Monticello and the log cabin we had rented to be our base for the week. It was a great place in a very secluded and cozy. It was further away from the Park than we were told and, as John continued to observe, had very slow internet service. Overall a great log cabin.

This one caught my eye when we drove into town, but I didn't find it again until we left. All solids, great use of color, very eye catching. www.wishestrueandkind.blogspot.com

Never ending story.

On occasion, I will try to digitize some personal, historic photos. Prior to 2002, all my images were done chemically. It will take a while to get a representative bunch on flickr.

This log cabin style afghan was knit with 80% acrylic, 20% wool yarn in cream and three shades of pink. Measures approximately 39" by 39", with some stretch. This lovely lap afghan would also make a beautiful baby blanket.

This item is sold.

This is a wall quilt. The blocks are improv raw edge log cabins with, mostly, animals, a heart and flowers in the centre, sheltered.

It is about 28" x 40".

I made two of them for twin baby girls. The fronts are the same but have different backings.

Log cabin's were the modern architecture of their time - the 17th century in North America. This one was build in the 20th century inspired by the earlier one. And it is preserved today in a park, with signs explaining its provenance (links below).

An oversized twin-sized quilt for Tristan when camping made from black, grey, and brown scraps. The layout, which admittedly gets a little lost in the busyness, can be seen here.

Klimt inspired fabrics featured in this modern take on a log cabin block.

Cabana foi a terceira técnica que aprendi à máquina. Super legal, mas não tão fácil. A cada tira que vc costura, é bom dar uma acertada, se estiver ficando torto, rs.

My first log cabin blocks. Totally love this one!

I found my scrap box had very little yellow. :-)

I made my sister and BIL placemats for their 20th anniversary. I forgot to snap a pic of the finished mats. These ones haven't been bound yet. I bound them in gray.
