Bardney Lock on the River Witham.

 

Alongside the Water Rail Way which runs from Lincoln to Lincolnshire along the old railway line beside the River Witham. (National Cycle Network, National Route 1)

 

Note the swing bridge on the far side of the lock. Appears to just give access for agricultural vehicles.

Isis Lock, known familiarly to boatmen as “Louse Lock” links the Oxford Canal with the Castle Mill Stream which is a backwater of the River Thames.

This is Lock 11 on the Forth and Clyde canal in Camelon drained and having some maintenance work done on it .

Fenny Stratford Lock is on the Grand Union Canal. It was built in the early 1800's as a "temporary" measure whilst the canal was constructed, but it proved too costly to remove again. It is a very busy lock, we saw at least 6 narrowboats passing through in the short time we were there.
