We had a terrific holiday staying at the Landmark Trust's splendid Lock Cottage, at Stoke Pound, which is the start of the climb up to Tardebigge on the Worcester Birmingham Canal. [www.landmarktrust.org.uk/search-and-book/properties/lock-...]
The cottage is between Locks 31 and 32, as you climb up to Lock 57 at Tardebigge.

Christchurch, Latchingdon, Essex
Locked, no keyholder. Latchingdon is the largest and least attractive place on the western part of the peninsula, an ugly mile or so of kebab shops, off-licences, petrol stations. The church is from the 1860s by JP St Aubyn, but is big and characterless, and apparently of little interest. It is always locked - I had actually tried the door once before on my way to Bradwell last summer. Not really sure why I bothered this time. However, photographing it meant I could count it as a visited church.
The next church was the real goal of my journey. Knowing how horrible Latchingdon was I was a bit uncertain about the setting of the next, but I needn't have worried.
Four Locks was once a community of homes and businesses supporting the canal. Some of the original buildings have been restored including a mule barn, and several lockhouses.

Actually it's a great idea - helps keep from scratching up the paint on your bike. Very creative.
Too bad it doesn't say "Lock for Cleanliness". That would be a nice trick -- the rest of this bathroom was as scary as what you see here, but when ya gotta pee, ya gotta pee.

Was up early today and felt the urge to knock out a couple images.
Took 5 shots in Auto Bracket mode and then tone mapped in Photomatix.
Photoshop CS2 was used for adjustment layers and minor tweaking.
