Located within the Arun Valley in West Sussex, Pulborough Brooks has beautiful views across to the South Downs and is set in one of the richest areas for nature in the country. The nature reserve has a great variety of habitats. The lowland wet grassland is part of the Arun Valley floodplain and is criss crossed by ditches which host rare plants. The grassland, pools and scrapes provide feeding areas for wintering wildfowl and nesting areas for wading birds. On higher ground there are wildflower meadows and arable fields for winter finches. These are linked by hedgerows and scrub to woodland areas, all of which are vital for nesting songbirds, small mammals and bats.

Located on the same grounds as Humayun's Tomb, Isa Khan Niyazi's Tomb is similar to Tomb of Muhammad Shah which is located in the Lodi Gardens also in Delhi, India. It was surely the inspiration for this tomb. Both are octagonal in shape with three arched entryways on each side, both have large central domes with smaller domed gazebos around it.
—from Wikipedia
Several monuments dot the pathway leading up to the enclosure around Humayun's Tomb from the main entrance in the West. Prominent among them is one that pre-dates the main tomb itself, by twenty years. Constructed in 1547 CE, it is the tomb complex of Isa Khan Niyazi, an Afghan noble in Sher Shah Suri's court of the Sur Empire, who fought against the Mughals. The octagonal tomb is positioned within an octagonal garden, which was built during his own lifetime and the reign of Islam Shah Suri, son of Sher Shah. It later served as a burial place for the entire family of Isa Khan.

The Ventimiglia Castle is located in the municipality of Castelbuono, in the province of Palermo.
It was built in 1316 by Count Francesco I of Ventimiglia. It was built on the site of a previous square fortification, on the San Pietro hill and on the remains of the ancient Byzantine city of Ypsigro.
Between 1454 and 1456 the castle was enlarged by Giovanni di Ventimiglia. He also restored the castle chapel to make it suitable for hosting a relic of the patron saint of Castelbuono, the skull of Sant'Anna.
In 1683 the Ventimiglia family moved the chapel to its current location and had it richly decorated in Baroque style by the Serpotta brothers.
The castle never had a real strategic purpose but was a typical aristocratic city palace. It presents architectural construction elements from different eras, Arab, Norman and Swabian.
It currently houses a museum.

01-october-2021: the ground is obviously calcareous and dug by the waters, especially those of the Rak Creek, which first opened a gorge and then a valley in the heart of the Karst plateau.
Here it is a gentle stream in a garden...
In this case, as, unfortunately, more and more often happens, the "Little Bridge On the Rak" has been unusually "useful" for a long time: it has been since June that it rains very little in an area that is normally very rainy (1800l/m2 per year), therefore a lot of vegetation has also grown in correspondence with the opening above.
Machu Picchu 20221127
Located in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, the sacred Inca citadel built around 1450 and discovered in 1911, still hides enigmas and mysteries about its real purpose, which continue to be hidden to this day and which arouse the interest of both visitors and archaeologists from all over the world.
Due to its strategic location at the top of a high mountain, there are various theories about what it could mean for the Incas. Some argue that it was built as a great mausoleum for the Inca Pachacútec, while others claim that it was an important administrative and agricultural center whose cultivation areas served for the livelihood of its inhabitants. However, it is also considered that it was used as a necessary link between the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon or as a resting residence for the Inca governor.
The truth is that Machu Picchu is one of the greatest symbols behind what was the impressive architecture and engineering of the Inca Empire. Although its origin is still the subject of study, the value and significance it represented in its time, as well as its imposing design, have earned it to be considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world.
