Located within Lassen Volcanic National Park at 8,714 feet of altitude is Reading Peak which actually is small plug dome volcano located about 2.5 miles from Mount Lassen in Shasta County in California. Mount Lassen for whom the national park was named last erupted in the early Twentieth Century. Strokkur is a fountain-type geyser located in a geothermal area beside the Hvítá River in Iceland in the southwest part of the country, east of Reykjavík. It typically erupts every 6–10 minutes. Its usual height is 15–20 metres, although it can sometimes erupt up to 40 metres high.
Strokkur belongs to the Haukadalur valley area, where various other geothermal feature such as mud pools, fumaroles and other geysers are located around it, such as the famous Geysir geyser, which lies only 160 feet to the north.
Strokkur was first mentioned in 1789, after an earthquake helped to unblock the conduit of the geyser. Its activity fluctuated throughout the 19th century; in 1815 its height was estimated to have been as much as 60 metres (200 ft). It continued to erupt until the turn of the 20th century, when another earthquake blocked the conduit again. In 1963, upon the advice of the Geysir Committee, locals cleaned out the blocked conduit through the bottom of the basin, and the geyser has been regularly erupting ever since.

Located along the Alpine Walking Trail just south of the Falls Creek alpine resort on the Bogong High Plains.
Located in Hillman State Park, the area was part of the largest Pittsburgh coal seam surface strip mine in Pennsylvania and operated from the late 1920's until the early 1960's. Extensive surface reclamation work was done by the mine owner above that required by the then current laws. The 3600 acre property was gifted to the state in 1969 for outdoor recreational use.
located at Crosby Beach in Merseyside, England. Another Place consists of 100 cast iron figures facing towards the sea. Another Place was first exhibited on the beach of Cuxhaven, Germany, in 1997 followed by Stavanger in Norway and De Panne in Belgium. It was the subject of much controversy in Merseyside, although many people considered the figures to be beautiful pieces of art, and tourism in the local area increased.
The city center of Marseille is located more around the old Roman harbor and marina. The cathedral lies on the edge of the old town area near the sea and the port area.

Marseille Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Sainte-Marie-Majeure de Marseille [katedʁal sɛ̃t maʁi maʒœʁ də maʁsɛj] or Cathédrale de La Major or simply La Major; Occitan: Catedrala Santa Maria Majora de Marselha) is a Roman Catholic cathedral and a national monument of France. Located in Marseille, it has been a basilica minor since 1896. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Marseille (the Diocese of Marseille until its elevation in 1948).
Old Cathedral
Part of the earlier, much smaller, cathedral still remains, alongside the newer one. It was built in the 12th century in a simple Romanesque style. Two bays of the nave were demolished in the 1850s, when the new cathedral was built. What remains is the choir and one bay of the nave, and these remaining parts are commonly referred to as the "Vieille Major". The composer Charles Desmazures was organist at the old cathedral.

The "Nouvelle Major" was built on an enormous scale in the Byzantine and Roman Revival styles. The foundation stone was laid by Emperor Napoleon III in 1852, and the first service was held in 1893. It was completed in 1896, given the title of minor basilica, and consecrated in 1897. It was built on the site used for the cathedrals of Marseille since the 5th century, principally by the architects Léon Vaudoyer and Henri-Jacques Espérandieu (1829-1874). It is 142 m (469 ft) long, and the main cupola is 70 m (231 ft) high. With a capacity of 3,000 seats, it is one of the largest cathedrals in France, covering a total of 7,680 square metres. It has been a listed monument since 1906.
Lachung is a town and hill station in northeast Sikkim, India. It is located in the North Sikkim district near the border with Tibet. Lachung is at an elevation of about 9,600 feet (2,900 m) and at the confluence of the Lachen and Lachung Rivers, both tributaries of the River Teesta. The word Lachung means "small pass". The town is approximately 125 kilometres (78 mi) from the capital Gangtok.
The Indian Army has a forward base in the town. Before the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1950, Lachung was a trading post between Sikkim and Tibet, after which it was closed down. The town's economy has been boosted by tourism in recent years as the region has been opened up by the Indian government. Tourists come from all over the world to visit the town between October and May, mostly on their way to the Yumthang Valley and the Lachung Monastery. Most of Lachung's inhabitants are of Lepcha and Tibetan descent. Languages spoken here are Nepali, Lepcha and Bhutia. During winter the town is usually covered in snow. Lachung is also the base camp for Rhododendron Valley Trek which starts from Yumthang Valley and ends at Lachen Valley.
Lachung has been described as the "most picturesque village of Sikkim" by British explorer Joseph Dalton Hooker in his definitive, The Himalayan Journal (1855). Skiing is conducted in Phuni near this town.

Located on the banks of the Calonne (a small watercourse), the church of Fontaine-la-Louvet, of Romanesque origin (not visible in the picture), was rebuilt in the 15th century in stone and flint. From the Romanesque period, only the apse remains. To the north are two chapels from the first half of the 16th century, with stone and flint chequerboard walls (but this is the south side). The large bays also date from the 16th century. The rectangular windows were drilled in the 17th century. The entrance gate, placed to the west, is sheltered by a half-timbered porch from the 16th century. Many villages of Eure have horrible red street lanterns. They destroy every photo. That's why I desaturated them.
Located within City Farm, a rural agricultural area in the middle of Brisbane's 'burbs, this homemade rustic oven, with an ethnic feel, really caught my eye. I had the area virtually to myself to take photos while the farm volunteers were eating lunch, although I think the pizza oven remained unused.

Located in Richardson County, Nebraska. What's so strange about this house is that the sidings covered the bricks. That's something I haven't seen like that before. Have you? It's unique, I think.

Located at the end of the beautiful promenade in La Rochelle, France is the "Great ClocK" (Porte de la Gros-Horloge), which is the gateway to the old town. It has a 12th century base and an octagonal Bell Tower original built in 1478 but rebuilt in 1746. Taken from across the Vieux Port.

Located at the northwest edge of the Big Sinking Oilfield. Named after several tin buildings that contained the pumps that the transit company used to move crude oil to the refineries. Nowadays the tanks are gone and locals have repurposed the tin buildings.

Metropol Parasol is a wooden structure located at La Encarnación square, in the old quarter of Seville, Spain. It was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer and completed in April 2011. It has dimensions of 150 by 70 metres (490 by 230 ft) and an approximate height of 26 metres (85 ft) and claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world. Its appearance, location, delays and cost overruns in construction resulted in much public controversy. The building is popularly known as Las Setas de la Encarnación (Incarnation's mushrooms).
The structure consists of six parasols in the form of giant mushrooms ("Las setas" in Spanish), whose design is inspired by the vaults of the Cathedral of Seville and the ficus trees in the nearby Plaza de Cristo de Burgos. Metropol Parasol is organized in four levels. The underground level (Level 0) houses the Antiquarium, where Roman and Moorish remains discovered on site are displayed in a museum. Level 1 (street level) is the Central Market. The roof of Level 1 is the surface of the open-air public plaza, shaded by the wooden parasols above and designed for public events. Levels 2 and 3 are the two stages of the panoramic terraces (including a restaurant), offering one of the best views of the city centre. ~ Wikipedia
Hyatt Regency San Francisco is a hotel located at the foot of Market Street and The Embarcadero in the financial district of San Francisco, California. The hotel is a part of the Embarcadero Center development by Trammell Crow, David Rockefeller, and John Portman.
The building was sold by its owner, Strategic Hotel Capital LLC, in January 2007 for close to US$200 million to Dune Capital Management and DiNapoli Capital Partners – roughly $250,000 for each of the hotel's 802 rooms.
The Regency Club Lounge was once the Equinox, a rooftop revolving restaurant, but is now a stationary elite club for certain hotel guests offering 360-degree views of the city and the bay.
The Hyatt Regency's atrium lobby served as the lobby of the Glass Tower in 1974's The Towering Inferno. Replicas of John Portman's trademark pill-shaped elevators were built for use in the film and are featured throughout, including in an extended sequence where one is lifted from the stricken tower by helicopter. The Hotel was also featured in the 1977 Mel Brooks Comedy High Anxiety, the film Telefon from 1977, and in Time After Time (1979 film), a tale of H.G. Wells chasing Jack The Ripper into the future of 1979.
As well as being a setting for numerous films, the lobby is itself inspired by a film. Architect John Portman has stated that its design was suggested to him by viewing the 1935 science fiction film Things to Come.
Located just outsde of the Forbidden City it is more than worth to climb up the Coal Hill. You get a fantastic view from there over the Forbiden City.
Located on the water in North Vancouver this park features a fenced in off-leash area and water access. There area also walking paths that you can enjoy.

Located near Bovec, in north-western Slovenia, this spectacular waterfall cascades over moss-covered rocks into a cold, emerald-green pool of water. It is fed by the Glijun Stream, which receives its water from the Kaning Mountains. A tempting swim in the floods becomes a challenge, because the water is ice cold. Since this place is visited by many tourists, especially in summer, it is advisable to be there early for a photo.
Unfortunately, due to the prevailing severe drought, the water volume of the waterfall was small.
In der Nähe von Bovec, in Nord-West-Slowenien, befindet sich dieser spektakuläre Wasserfall, der über moosbewachsene Felsen in ein kaltes, smaragdgrünes Wasserbecken stürzt. Er wird gespeist von dem Bach Glijun, der sein Wasser aus dem Kaning-Gebirges erhält. Ein verlockend erscheinendes Bad in den Fluten wird zur Herausforderung, denn das ist Wasser eiskalt. Da dieser Ort insbesondere im Sommer von vielen Touristen besucht wird, empfiehlt es sich für ein Foto früh vor Ort zu sein.
Aufgrund der allgegenwärtigen großen Trockenheit war die Wassermenge des Wasserfalls leider gering.

located west of the town of Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. It was built in the years 1847-57 as a country house for Sir James Matheson who had bought the whole island a few years previously with his fortune from the Chinese Opium trade. It was designed by the Glasgow architect Charles Wilson.
The Monastère de Brou, located in the town of Bourg-en-Bresse, is a stunning example of flamboyant Gothic architecture. It was constructed in the early 16th century by Marguerite d’Autriche, Duchess of Savoy, as a testament to her love for her deceased husband, Philibert le Beau.
The centerpiece of the monastery is its church, adorned with a polychrome glazed tile roof. Inside the church lie the princely burials of Philibert II of Savoy, Marguerite of Austria, and Marguerite of Bourbon. These tombs are a masterpiece of finely sculpted details, crafted by the best regional and Flemish artists of the time.
One of the remarkable features of the Monastère de Brou is the chapel of Margaret of Austria, which houses a stunning stained glass window depicting the Assumption and a white marble altarpiece portraying the Seven Joys of the Virgin. The altarpiece is adorned with seven niches, each representing a significant event in the life of the Virgin Mary, such as the Annunciation, the Nativity, and the Assumption.
The church's choir also features old stained glass windows, wooden stalls, and a rood screen, all created by master glassmakers from Lyon and other talented artists.
Aside from the church and its treasures, visitors can explore three cloisters within the monastery: the first cloister, the large cloister, and the cloister of the outbuildings. Each cloister offers unique architectural and artistic elements.
Furthermore, the monastic buildings house a municipal museum, where an impressive collection of art is presented. The art collection includes Flemish and French paintings ranging from the 15th to the 20th century, old religious sculptures, Renaissance furniture, Bressan furniture, and Meillonnas earthenware.
A visit to the Monastère de Brou promises to be a delightful experience, showcasing the rich history and artistic excellence of the region during the 16th century. The monastery serves as a testament to the love and devotion of Marguerite d’Autriche to her husband and stands as a timeless masterpiece of Gothic art.
