A sailing catamaran ( lead ) is a multihull vessel that is characterized by having two separate hulls, which are generally similar or identical in size. Because of their dual-hull design, they offer more space and will lay on the water like a raft, for less heeling when enjoying sailing on the open waters. These boats were originally crafted in the South Pacific as a way to navigate the shallow waters with increased stability, for transporting passengers and goods between various islands. They became popular for sailing in the 1960s and 70s and are now one of the most common sailing vessels available.

Badami town is located at the foot of a red sandstone inselberg.
Badami Cave Temples were dug horizontally into the cliff of the inselberg during the Chalukya period. There are four cave temples open to the public, three Hindu temples and one Jain one. They can be reached by climbing stone stairways as you see in the photo. The entrances of Cave 1 and 2 are in the frame.
A tree was found growing by cracking the rock.
Chalukya Dynasty was founded in 540 CE and prospered until 753 CE. Its first capital was Aihole and moved to Badami in 543. It had controlled present-day Karnataka, Maharashtra as well as part of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu at its height. Badami had continued to be the capital of the Chalukyas.
The area around Badami is known to be the cradle of the Dravidian architecture where the distinct style of Hindu temples in South India developed.
Located just one mile inside the Tennessee border with Kentucky within the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is the South Bison Range. While it was not possible to get as close at the first location we stopped, this viewing area from the roadway is elevated above the prairie and gives a unique view of the entire herd from a safe viewing spot. Seeing these huge, amazing creatures gives me a new respect for their size and strength...magnificent creatures of God's design!

High Springs is located in the north west part of Florida. Many unique shops and stores downtown. High Springs boomed as a result of the development of phosphate mining in the area. In 1892, the town was incorporated. During the next year, the Savannah, Florida, and Western Railroad completed its South Florida Division which connected High Springs with Port Tampa. By the beginning of the twentieth century, High Springs was known as an important railroad center. There are several natural springs with clear blue water and beautiful forrest areas.

Located in the Four Corners area and stretching from Utah east into Colorado, Hovenweep National Monument is a desert area settled by ancestral Puebloans in about 1200 AD. The ruins include towers, dwellings, and kivas, many of which can be seen today. By 1300 AD it was abandoned, presumably because of drought, with Puebloans migrating to the Rio Grande Valley.
The ruins were first discovered by the leader of a Morman expedition into Utah in 1854. They were named Hovenweep, a Paiute word for "deserted valley," by famed Yellowstone photographer William Henry Jackson in 1874 and became part of the National Park System in 1923. It is remote. No crowds, no nearby cities, no motels, no restaurants, no gas stations. Just desert beauty by day and dark skies at night. And crows. Lots of crows.
Located in the Urubamba Valley, aka the Sacred Valley, most archeologists now believe that Machu Picchu was the private estate of the 9th Inca emperor Pachacuti or Pachacútec. Once the Inca emerged from their ancestral lands around the border area of modern Peru and Bolivia, and began to conquer vast tracts of land, they established their capital at the site of modern day Cusco, Peru around 1420. Just like all roads led to Rome in the Roman Empire, thousand of miles of roads and trails led to Cusco in the Inca Empire. Neither Machu Picchu nor Cusco were ever completed due to the Spanish conquest that began with a military campaign by Francisco Pizarro in 1532. It took 40 years to finally vanquish the Inca. Pizarro was only successful due to a civil war caused by the sons of Pachacútec. He was able to recruit the emperor's rival brother to his side. Machu Picchu was used as a stronghold by the Inca for many years but was eventually abandoned. Terraces below the main level were used to grow food especially maize which was used to make a fermented drink used in festivities and rituals. (There's little doubt that the beverage was called 'Hazy Maizy.")
Cedar Falls, located in Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio, is actually two falls in the same location. I refer to them as the main falls and the secondary falls. They are fed by water runoff so it's best to visit in the spring or fall if the rainfall is above average. The main falls flow down a rock surface and spill into a pond which overflows into a pleasant stream. The flume creates a strong volume of water concentrated into a tight waterfall.

Mitwitz Moated Castle is located in the market town of Mitwitz—between Coburg and Kronach—in the Steinach Valley, at the confluence of the Föritz and Steinach rivers.
Mitwitz Moated Castle was first mentioned in historical records in 1266. At that time, it was held as a fief of the Bishopric of Bamberg by the Barons of Schaumberg. The lower levels of the north wing and the northern corner tower were already in existence then.
In 1425, the Lords of Rosenau—knights who held extensive estates in the surrounding area—became the owners of the castle. Descendants of the family formed a line of mintmasters from Coburg who became the new owners of the castle and the village of Mitwitz.
During the German Peasants' War, the castle was looted and partially destroyed by fire in 1525. In the years that followed, only makeshift repairs could be carried out before Hieronymus von Würtzburg acquired the property in 1575. At the end of the 16th century, Hans Veit I von Würtzburg—a member of the noble von Würtzburg family—commissioned the castle's reconstruction and expansion into its current external form. He engaged the master builder Daniel Engelhardt for the project; Engelhardt had previously planned the expansion of the Rosenberg Fortress in Kronach. The estate remained in the possession of the Barons von Würtzburg until the death of Ludwig Freiherr von Würtzburg in 1922, at the age of 77. As his daughter Annie von Würtzburg had married Theodor von Cramer-Klett Jr.—son of the industrialist Theodor von Cramer-Klett—in 1903, ownership of the castle passed to the von Cramer-Klett family. Towards the end of the Second World War, the Frankfurt City Library was relocated to the Mitwitz moated castle.
The Renaissance moated castle is a three-story, four-winged structure featuring gable roofs and four corner towers. Its interior houses several points of interest. The central courtyard contains an 18th-century Neptune fountain and a replica of the sandstone statue *Der fränkische Ritter* (The Franconian Knight)—created by Pankraz Wagner between 1572 and 1577—the original of which stands on the town fountain in Weismain. The castle chapel is located in the west wing. The upper floors contain various rooms displaying many original furnishings dating from the 16th to the 20th century. The Mirror Room features a cycle of paintings from 1755 attributed to Georg Anton Urlaub.

This mill is located in Sudbury and I drove there after getting out of work early on a Friday. I had to turn around on the way after realizing I forgot my camera. ♀️ I made it just before sunset and had to wait as there were some high school seniors getting their portraits taken. I decided to focus on this lovely and colorful golden branch in the foreground to add some interest to my composition.
The Harz Railway or Trans-Harz Railway (German: Harzquerbahn) was formerly the main line of the Harz Narrow
Schmalspurbahnen or HSB) and runs north to south right across the Harz Mountains from Wernigerode to Nordhausen. However, the tourist attraction of the Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz, is so great that the Brocken Railway is effectively the main line today. The Trans-Harz Railway joins up with the Selke Valley Railway to Quedlinburg at Eisfelder Talmühle where all trains are organised to make good connections.
Route
The line begins at the HSB's narrow gauge station in Nordhausen (Nordhausen Nord). It lies in northwest of and parallel to the standard gauge railway station. After passing the link line to the Nordhausen Tramway that joins it from the right, the railway bends towards the north and runs for 7 km to the station of Niedersachswerfen Ost almost parallel to the standard gauge line from Nordhausen to Ellrich (the South Harz Line). The Harz mountains begin beyond Ilfeld (km 10.7). Behind Netzkater (km 14.0) lies the station of Eisfelder Talmühle (km 17.3), where the Selke Valley Railway branches off in a curve to the right.
The Trans-Harz Railway continues to follow the B 81 federal road as far as Tiefenbachmühle halt (km 19.5) before turning in a westerly direction in order to reach the request stop of Sophienhof (km 21.0), the last stop in Thuringia. The line runs through spruce forests over the state border with Saxony-Anhalt. At Benneckenstein station (km 29.8) the line crosses the ridge at 530 m above NN, its highest point so far. It then runs downhill into the valley of the Warme Bode, where the halt of Sorge (km 33.4; 449 m above NN) is located. Next the route climbs to its next summit at 557 m. After Elend (km 41.6) the line reaches the junction with the Brocken Railway at Drei-Annen-Hohne station (km 46.4). In 2009 the construction of a new stub line from Elend to Braunlage was discussed (see South Harz Railway Company).
Behind Drei-Annen-Hohne the line runs steeply downhill and the railway reaches the 58 m long tunnel below the Thumkuhlenkopf. It is the only tunnel in the Harz Narrow Gauge Railway network. On emerging from the tunnel Wernigerode Castle can soon be seen in the distance. In the vicinity of the station at Steinerne Renne (km 54.5) the line enters one of the HSB's tightest curves with a 60-metre radius, before reaching the station of Wernigerode-Hasserode (km 56.3). The next stations en route are Hochschule Harz halt (formerly Wernigerode-Kirchstraße) and Westerntor station (where the Wernigerode-Westerntor Bahnbetriebswerk is found) at Wernigerode. Its terminus is the station at Wernigerode (km 60.5).
The first section of the Trans-Harz Railway to go into service on 12 July 1897 was the line from Nordhausen to Ilfeld. On 7 February 1898 it was extended as far as Netzkater and on 15 September that year to Benneckenstein. From the north the section Wernigerode to Drei-Annen-Hohne was completed on 20 June 1898. The remaining section between Drei-Annen-Hohne and Benneckenstein was finally opened on 27 March 1899 along with the line up to the Brocken, the highest peak in the Harz mountains. The original operating company was the Nordhausen-Wernigerode Railway Company. After the compulsory acquisition of the line in 1949, the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn ran it until 1993.
From 1899 the Trans-Harz Railway crossed another metre gauge line at Sorge. This other line was operated by the South Harz Railway Company (SHE) and ran from Walkenried via Brunnenbachsmühle and Sorge to Tanne. A link line, initially just for passenger trains, was laid in 1913. In 1945 services between Sorge and Brunnenbachsmühle were closed, because this section crossed the Inner German Border. The section from Sorge to Tanne continued to be worked until 1958. The tracks were left on the border bridge until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
Railway traffic has sharply increased in recent years on the section between Nordhausen and Ilfeld. Since 2004 Nordhausen hybrid-trams have run directly from Ilfeld into the tram network at Nordhausen. Other trains run to Eisfelder Talmühle and continue onto the Selke Valley Railway. Apart from one pair of steam trains, all services are worked by diesel railbuses. The only remaining goods trains on the Harz Narrow Gauge Railways work the line between Nordhausen and Eisfelder Talmühle. These regularly transport standard gauge ballast wagons from the Hartsteinwerken Unterberg on rollbocks to Nordhausen. A number of converted diesel locomotives are available for this, which have couplers and buffers at the right height for handling standard gauge goods wagons.[3]
After 1993 daily trains services between Eisfelder Talmühle and Drei-Annen-Hohne were restricted to four pairs of trains. Only two pairs were hauled by steam locomotives. In addition, between Drei Annen Hohne and Wernigerode through trains run on the Brocken–Wernigerode route, the majority being steam-hauled.

The church of Saint Dunat, located near the village of Kornić on the island of Krk, is believed to date from the 12th century, although there are speculations that it was built earlier. The church was heavily damaged in an explosion in 1945, after which it was reconstructed.
The Crystal Mill, or the Old Mill is an 1892 wooden powerhouse located on an outcrop above the Crystal River in Crystal, Colorado, Crystal was a big town in late 18th. Then, it became a ghost town in early 19th. Since the road to there is not well maintained, this place can only be accessed via 4x4.
Knowing it would be snow at night, my friend and I decided to do backpack camping there. We packed our stuff and hit on the road around 2 pm in afternoon. After a half mile uphill hiking, we came to an intersection. I wasn't sure which direction to go so I asked a guy who drove a pickup truck. I guess that person didn't hear me clearly, he pointed us to a wrong direction. After one mile hiking uphill, we felt it was wrong because we didn't see any other hikers or vehicles. So, we came down to the intersection and tried the different direction.
On that road we met some other hikers and local tour vehicles. We knew we were on the right path so we kept going. Since we took a wrong road at the beginning and we wasted more than 1 hour and a lot of energy. By 5 pm we were still on the road without knowing how far away we were from our destination. Suddenly, I heart a sound of motor and a tour vehicle stopped beside me. The lady who drove the car told me that they heart our story about taking a wrong way and they were worry about us because it was pretty late. She said she dropped her customer in her place and came back for us. She asked us to get on her car and drove us to Crystal Mill. Since she helped us to get there sooner, we had enough time to look around the place and setup tent.
Next morning, when we got up we were very excited as we had snow and whole place just for two of us. We climbed up and down, went front and back to take Crystal Mill pictures from different angles. After 2 hours of shooting, we packed our stuff and started to walk back. About a half mile of our walk, a person drove a truck came to us. He is a resident in Crystal town and he came to check on us to make sure we were OK during the snow. After a while, another person from Marble side came to us too. He said they were worry about two of us whole night and he came to take us back. Since we want to shoot more snow pictures on the way back, we thanked his kindly offers and walked all the way back to our car.
Now, every time when I looked at my Crystal Mill pictures, I remember those people's warm smiles. Many thanks to the people from Marble and Crystal.
Today we arrive to the Landze church which is located in rural country side on the bank of river Venta. It's open several times a year and Christmas is one of them
The more than 300-year-old Landze Lutheran Church is located near Piltene, in a very picturesque place on the banks of the Venta. The landscape around the church is complemented by a grove of old lindens (there are 7 large lindens here, the circumference of the thickest tree is 6.4 m - it was a beehive tree, the trunk has large knots). An alley leads to the Landze church from the rectory (former boarding house building), where a pear tree with a circumference of 2 m also grows.
The Baltic German poet and translator Kārlis Hugenberger (1784 – 1860) spent his childhood in the Landze rectory. There are ancient burials near the church. Former parish priest of Landze, theologian and historian Teodors Kallmejers (1809 – 1859) is buried here. To the southeast of the church is an ancient cemetery.
Landze is believed to be one of two churches that were built as part of a treaty concluded in 1252 between the Bishopric of Courland and the Livonian Order on its Vinda (Ventava) lands. It existed already in Catholic times, since Jakob Polen founded a vicaria in it in 1518 in honor of the Virgin Mary. The gift was approved by the Master of the Order Walter von Plettenberg. But by the time Gotthard Kettler came to power, it had already collapsed, because by order of February 28, 1567, he ordered the construction of a church in Landze as well.
Probably built a wooden church in 1609 it was still in relatively good condition, only, presumably, initially it was without a tower, since in 1678 the bells hung, as is understood from the descriptions, in a separately standing tower.
In 1700, a tower was built and in 1703 the bells found their place in the tower that stood in the churchyard. The documents of 1712 say that the church is quite new, she has a tiled roof, a red-painted tower strewn with tin, holding two metal bells. The church has new benches, an altar and a chair. This tower threatens to invade as early as 1737. In 1744, by order of the duke, a significant redevelopment is carried out. The tower is demolished and built from the very foundation. It was originally made of wood, in 1776 Christopher Dittrich, Georg von Medem, the renter of the Zūras, orders the construction of a new one from stones. The final restoration work was carried out by Gustav von Lambsdorf, Count of Zūras, in 1847–1848 and finally in 1878 and 1909.
The pastoral lodge is believed to have been founded by Duke Gotthard and suffered greatly from the leaching of the Venta coast. The pastorate's lands were declining until finally 19.gs. in the first half, Count von Lambsdorf, the owner of the Zurs, allocates significant areas of land and restored the pastoral mansion to its former extent. Venta leachates in the 18th century. The pastorate, who was then south of the church, was also threatened, as in 1788 the pastorate had to be relocated and installed north of the church.
Machachi is located to the south of the capital of Ecuador, Quito. It is a city surrounded by the volcanos Atacazo, Corazon, Rumiñahui, Illinizas Peaks, Viudita Hill, Pasochoa, and Sincholagua, and owns part of the Cotopaxi volcano, a great active volcano which measures 5,897 m (19,347 ft) in altitude. In fact, the valley owns eight volcanoes inside, one the reasons Alexander von Humboldt named the region "Avenue of Volcanoes".
In the Panzaleo language, it means great active land. Machachi is the cradle of many slopes and the same ground is a perennial thermal and mineral water outcrop. In the fertile valleys of San Pedro are about 22 sources of chemicals which have theurapeutical properties.
Machachi has a similar temperature to Quito, fluctuating from 19°C (66°F) average high to 10°C (50°F) average low; these averages are for the whole year, with the dry months being June, July, and August.

I climbed to the top of 4 of these 7 volcanoes on the gas station poster plus 4 not in that region in 19 days.
Total of 8 climbs.
Located on the north side, the Gate of the Conception leads to the courtyard of orange trees. Completed in 1887, this doorway seamlessly matches the Gothic style of the Cathedral. Its façade features a depiction of Jesus as a priest with his apostles. Despite being added later, it harmonizes beautifully with the building’s historic architecture.
Au is located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the district of Bregenz. The town belongs to the Bregenz Forest, more exactly to the Hintere Bregenzerwald.
Forty percent of its 45 km² area is covered with forest, 34.4% of the area is used as alpine pasture (Almwirtschaft) and for other forms of alpine agriculture.
The town itself is unlike others in the area, as it has no real centre. It consists of several districts, which are (in no particular order): Argenau, Wieden, Lugen, Lebernau, Rehmen, Schrecken, Kreuzgasse, Jaghausen, Am Stein, Argenstein, Argenzipfel and Lisse. Au is an example of a "scattered village" (German: Streudorf).
The town hall is located in Argenau, whereas the church is located in Jaghausen. The district of Rehmen also has its own church.
The river, the Bregenzer Ach, flows through Au and is also the largest river. Alongside the river runs the L200 road, which is the main route through the Bregenz Forest.
The locals divide the town into two parts, which are separated by the river. One Part is called Schattseite (meaning shady side), and consists of the districts of Argenau, Argenzipfel and Wieden, the other part is called Sonnseite (meaning sunny side) and consists (mainly) of Rehmen and Schrecken.
The mountain you can see is the Kanisfluh. The Kanisfluh is a legendary massif in the Bregenz Forest Mountains between the municipalities Mellau and Au. The highest peak is the "Holenke" and it is 2,044 metres high. (6706 feet).

Craig Tara is a holiday camp located near Ayr in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It is run by Haven Holidays, who took over and renamed the former Butlin's Ayr camp in 1999.
The site was built just before the Second World War by Butlins but was then requisitioned becoming in 1941 a Navy training camp associated with HMS Scotia. After the Second World was over, it opened as a Butlins camp in 1947.
In 1987, the park was updated following a £25 million investment to improve the park. In 1988, the park was relaunched as "Butlin's Wonderwest World". The camp operated as a popular Scottish Butlins holiday resort until the 1990s though the resort suffered from events related to alcohol and drug consumption as well as violence in the 80s and 90s. To improve security in the park, security guards were recruited and CCTV added. The park also had a church facility and provided religious services. By 1998, the camp could hold up to 4,500 visitors and 1,500 daytrippers. In 1998, parts of Butlin's Wonderwest World were demolished.
In 1999, the camp became part of Haven Holidays, along with the Pwllheli camp, as part of an internal reorganisation within Bourne Leisure, which owned both Butlins and Haven. Haven Holidays renamed the site Craig Tara and replaced the chalet accommodation with static caravans. A £2.5 million development plan was announced at this time. The park was reopened by Kenny Dalglish. It included new luxury caravans and had some 40 to 50 permanent staff, with up to 300 seasonal workers in employment at Craig Tara.
Located on the southwest corner of N. Prairie and E. Chestnut streets., the Soper-Burr House is one of the oldest in the Franklin Square Historic District. It is actually two houses built 31 years apart. The original Italianate style house was built in 1859 by land speculator Hudson Burr. In 1871, Burr moved the structure further back on the lot and added a two-story, center hall addition. A Queen Anne-style house was attached on the south side in 1890 for Burr's daughter Emma and her husband, Clinton Soper, the president of American Foundry. The house was converted tp 10 apartments in the mid-1940s.
Fast forward to 2011 and the house was in such disrepair that Landmark Illinois had placed the property on its 2011 Ten Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois list. Fortunately, a developer purchased the property and renovated it about nine years ago. As of April 2021, the property is currently for sale.
The Soper-Burr House is a contributing property in Bloomington's Franklin Square Historic District, which is located northwest of downtown Bloomington. The Square is named in honor of Franklin Price, who was the mayor of Bloomington Mayor in 1856 when land for the Square was gifted to the city.
Franklin Square was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, and was designated a local historic district in 1979. The houses of Franklin Square were built in a variety of architectural styles from the mid 19th century through the early 20th century, including Georgian Revival, Italianate, Colonial, Queen Anne, and Richardsonian Romanesque.

Casapueblo, located in Punta Ballena, Uruguay, is an iconic building designed by artist Carlos Páez Vilaró. Built over 36 years starting in 1958, it features 13 floors with terraces offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Inspired by Mediterranean architecture and hornero bird nests, it was constructed without formal plans, resulting in an organic, labyrinthine structure. Casapueblo serves as a museum, art gallery, and hotel, showcasing Vilaró's artworks and hosting a daily "Ceremony of the Sun" at sunset
