I came across all these lobster pots on the beach the other day - don't think anyone would be trying to catch lobsters but guessing a fishing boat has lost them whilst out fishing and they've washed ashore!
Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.
Lobster pliers, unused - I'd forgotten we had them until I started searching for something for Macro Monday's theme "Utensil" - HMM!

Pieces of lobster and shrimp with diced avocados and some kind of garnish sitting on top. It sits on top of cucumbers and is surrounded by a sweet spicy sauce (no doubt from Trader Joe's)

Here's a lobster I like even better! I got this one at Libby's Market on Jordan Street in Brunswick, Maine, USA, during my June, 2018 trip. Getting a lobster roll at Libby's doesn't require a long wait & won't break the bank, like some other places. The lobster is fresh caught, every day, & you can have it on your toasted roll with mayo or melted butter. Delicious!

1000 pieces. 1 pieces missing. 1968.
36x28 grid = 1008 pieces.
Really enjoyed this one despite the missing piece (which I discovered early on). Pieces were heavily grimed. Cleaning takes extra time, which I was loathe do to for an incomplete puzzle. In the end, it was worth it.

While on a boat tour to look at the seals in Bar Harbor Maine we saw a few lobster boats out around the coastline hauling in their traps.

I have a friend who works on a fishing boat. Today, he brought us this big 4 1/2 pound lobster. The timing was perfect for treating Rose, Jay and family to lobster rolls on their Cape Cod vacation (our staycation). So, we kicked off the week with home-made lobster rolls!

A decent sized lobster (Homarus gammarus) at the stern post of the wreck of the Iona II off Lundy Island (owned by the National Trust). Unfortunately there was a lot of suspended particulate matter in the water that has reflected the light from my flash guns a bit.
Lobsters grow slowly and need to shed their hard exoskeleton when they want to get bigger. Once the old shell is shed they are very soft and easy prey so tend to hide away in holes. They are usually the dark blue colour but can be a light blue. They only turn red when cooked.
The waters around Lundy was declared Britain's first marine nature reserve in 1986 and the Iona II is just inside the reserve boundary so the lobster is safe from humans. The Iona II is a protected wreck and was a paddle steamer built on the Clyde and was on its way to America to run guns to the Confederate forces through the Unionist blockade.
Plodding southbound at Shipton, 66736 Wolverhampton Wanderers heads a load of eight Red Lobster wagons from an engineers possession at Yarm back to Doncasters Up Decoy yards on the Sunday morning of February the 17th 2019. These wagons are built on the frames of redundant steel bolster wagons, some of which have had extremely long lives, being rebogied and converted from vacuum braked 1950s built steel carrying wagons in the mid to late 70s.
Lobster Buoys are attached to lobster traps. Traps are submerged, so the buoys mark their location above water and allow lobster fishers to retrieve them easily. Lobster buoys are used to distinguish one fisher's traps from another. The state of Maine requires that lobster fishers mark their buoys and their boats with the same color pattern and prohibits the same color patterns from being used by two different fishers in the same area â Bar Harbor, ME, USA

"Lobster Pot Tree" How cool is this thing? I shot this back in 2009 but P-Town puts this up every year so if you're up that way, go check it out because it's unique.
