Grebes eat their own feathers to slow down digestion.. The eat small fish, brine shrimp and aquatic insects, which have rigid exoskeletons, making them both tough to digest and potentially damaging to the intestines.
The feathers enter a three-part stomach — first a storage chamber, then a gizzard, and lastly a pouch - and form dense balls in both the gizzard and final pouch. This appears to slow the passage of food long enough that the food can be safely liquified. The tough bits are then regurgitated within a ball of feathers, much the way owls spit up pellets of bones from their prey.

Love how the golden light of the evening sun (reflected off the Pepper Cannister church..) liquified around the edge of the puddle... and mixed with the few drops of Dutch Gold that a passing car squeezed from the can...
Never done one of these thingys! You know a diptych thingy ma bob!
Sometimes it's so annoying when you take an sp and you hate certain parts of it, especially the odd spare tyre or the sausage toes that creep into the shot! So what does a girl do? Crop!!! Ok I have to admit that I'm not exactly hand model material but I thought it would be more hassle to liquify those sausage fingers so I've just left them.
I should be very busy with college work but I just can't seem to get into the swing of things! I'm hating photojournalism and Environment Photography. Apart from that we are being shoved from classroom, to IT centres to sitting waiting in corridors for 30 mins as one of our classes over laps! Yeah I'm having a rant and pissed off and still feel like I'm not in "college routine mode".
I suppose I better go do some homework!

I wanted to show how over time people forget about some of the older types of technology. Its almost as if they are "Melting Away." The Dark, dramatic, and almost depressing background sets an upsetting mood on this Melting Phone; an effective way to show the past and how it is slowly being forgotten. This was also a learning process me. I learned new techniques in photoshop, some of the melting was from Crayons I melted with a hair dryer, I took some of the surrounding colors and used the brush tool and the smudge tool to connect the actual colors to the phone, and then I used the liquify filter for the rest of the melting process.
For ODC-Copycat. I am amazed over and over again at Eliza's creations. This is a nod of respect in her direction. I can't imagine how wonderful she could have made this image.

In 2005 the Volzhanin holding presented an experimental 12-meter bus model "CityRhythm-12" («СитиРитм-12»), fully low-floor. The model was produced from 2007 to 2012. After restyling and modifications (steel body instead of aluminium etc.) the model was produced as Volgabus-5270 "CityRitm 12 DLF" and then CityRitm 12 GLF, in modifications Volgabus-5270.02, G0, G2 that were equipped with Chinese Yuchai YC6L30 or European MAN E0836 engines.
In 2021 started production of the new modification Volgabus-5270.G4 (CityRitm 12 GLF) with Weichai WP7NG290E51 engine. No less than 773 buses, of which 299 - on compressed and 474 - on liquefied gas are produced, which operate in St. Petersburg and many other cities in Russia.
buses under the Volgabus brand are manufactured by the investment and production holding Bakulin Motors Group (at 2008-2014 -Volgabus). The first plant of the company was founded in 1993 by Anatoly Bakulin, who at that time worked as the head of the motor-colon № 1732 in the city of Volzhsky, Volgograd (Stalingrad) region. The main production site is still located there (the number of employees - more than 600; current production capacity - 1000 units per year). The first five years of work the plant assembled buses from vehicle sets of Likino Bus Plant (LiAZ). In 1999 started batch production of buses under the trademark Volzhanin (from Volga river area; Волжанин). Since 2006 a line of low-floor city buses under the brand name CityRhythm has been produced. In 2008 the Volgabus group of companies was founded, uniting into one holding the production, scientific and investment divisions. Product brand name was also changed to "Volgabus". In 2014, after reorganization and rebranding, the holding was named after the founder - Bakulin Motors Group (Bakulin Motors Group, BMG, BMG). In 2017, the company opened another production complex to assemble buses in the Vladimir region.
FEC 813 and 805 with the normal fuel tender splitting them up cruises north across the Fort Lauderdale lift bridge during one of the many pop up storms that rolled through on my trip while in and out of training classes. All around was blue skies and partly cloudy, hell had I gone one mile south I probably had sun but cant win them all.
More intentional camera movement. These based on trees - then convert to mono and use the liquify tool. Pretty patterns perhaps!?

Flickr has suspended my account, so I cannot interact with people on here anymore until they lift the suspension. They claim that I add so many favorites that it is considered an abuse of resources. I am hoping to convince them to lift this suspension. All of my images have been knocked out of Explore and the Flickr search engine. I am unable to favorite or comment on anyone's photos. I am not the only one who has had this happen to them lately. They also accused me of using a script or automated process to fave other member's images, which isn't true, I don't even know how to use a script or even what one is! I personally fave every image that you see in my favorites stream.
A shot of Ashley Flipping her hair infront of the camera. This is Ashley, I met her on Model Mayhem, her Model Mayhem number is 1216213.
UPDATE I just got a message saying that the suspension on my account will be lifted!
About the Photo
*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF 50mm ƒ/1.8 II *Shutter Speed: 1/125 Sec. *Aperture Value: ƒ/2.2 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 50mm (80mm Equivalent in 35mm Film)
I shot this on a tripod using mirror lockup and a remote switch. I recently purchased an expensive graduated neutral density filter and I have been trying it out during these shoots. Ashley likes shots of hair in motion, so we gave that a try, I really like the way this one came out.
To the right of the camera I had a Canon Speedlite 430EX II at 24mm and at full power being shot into a 60" Westcott reflective umbrella about 3 feet away from her, the Speedlite was triggered by a Canon ST-E2 wireless transmitter. To the left of the camera I had a Vivitar flash with a cloth diffusing it at full power being held out over the water by an assistant, it was triggered optically by the light from the Speedlite. To the right of the camera and infront of the model I had another assistant hold a silver reflector to fill in shadows on the right side of her nose.
I opened the RAW file in ACR and did some tone curve adjustments and slight hues and saturation adjustments. I opened the RAW file in CS4 and converted it to a 16 bit TIFF file. I duplicated the layer twice, desaturated the middle layer and changed the blend mode of the second layer to soft light to give a high contrast subtle saturation effect. I added the rain by adding noise to a layer and adding motion blur to it. I added the water droplets coming off of her hair by using a noise layer and using motion blur at two angles; 45 and -45. I used a levels adjustment layer to adjust the look of the droplets and rain. I enhanced the eye by adding a blue colour on a layer set to blend mode color. I also dodge the area around the pupil and burned the area at the edge of the iris. I also darkened the pupil. I used liquify to change the shape of the eye so it looked more round. I removed a hair that was over the eye by using the clone healing tool. At the end of the editing I saved a 16 bit TIFF file, converted to sRGB colourspace, and saved as a JPEG to upload to the internet.
Model: Kenneth
Location: Confidential Tunnel
Light Source: Steel Wool, Sparks
Challenges: Lighting the steel wool, spinning it with precaution, and the water where the tripod was placed to capture the photograph.
Successes: Ability to create an illusion of outlining the tunnel while allowing the water to take up the colour of liquified gold.
Just arrived in Victoria yesterday, on completion of her delivery voyage from Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. in Gdansk, Poland. She is fuelled by liquified natural gas (LNG). Fourth ship in this class for the company.
Mucking about with a scanner and some filters
This is a polystyrene 'Comfy' pad designed for rough tuff builders to protect their poor little knees when getting down low :-) Ideal texture and colouring to scan in and manipulate I thought. this is a simple job, here's the step by step for those who want to know...
Duplicate the layer and Desaturate it. add Gradient Mask, hit 'delete' to reveal the colours underneath, merge the layers. the only thing specific to PS is the Liquify tool which is where I smudged the colours :-)

I wonder if I could liquify one and inject him straight into my veins? That's what most of my fellow Lancastrians seem to do with their favorite things. Although their favorite things are all heroin.
Q326 heads east out of Grand Rapids behind a pair of HLCX SD40-2s. The trailing unit, HLCX 7149, was at one time rebuilt by the BN to burn liquified natural gas, and it was given SD45 style radiators as a result. Today, 8147 is part of the G&W fold as DGNO 3416, while the 7149 is now NS 3528.

20010818UK On the 21st October 1966 Elizabeth M. was one of a handful of schoolchildren at Pantglas Junior School who escaped being swallowed up by a coal tip which had been put over a spring. Incessant rain had destabilised the tip, the base liquified and 110,000 cubic metres of slurry slid down the mountain, hitting the school as lessons began. 116 children and 28 adults died. Incredible cynicism by the NCB and the government of the day (Labour) were partially made good later, The trauma which had affected the the village could never be repaired. This Robber Fly appears to be eating another, slightly smaller, Robber Fly of the same species i.e. cannibalism.
Apparently cannibalism is common amongst Robber Flies. Indeed, some species have ben given the colloquial name of cannibal flies. Males are particularly at risk as they attempt to mate with larger females.
In this photo, the proboscis has been inserted through the cuticle of the victim's thorax. A neurotoxin subdues the victim and digestive enzymes then liquify the tissues of the victim. The liquified contents of the victims body are then sucked out through the proboscis.

A Speedlite 430EX at 1/8th power (manual mode) was shot through a white plexiglass sheet 20cm behind the glass. I used a 580EX II as wireless master for high speed synchronization. The twirl was added in post production after I had deleted sensor dust becoming visible due to f16.

I met this couple in Houston Russian Orthodox Christian Church on my photography hunting.
Even though I'm not a churchgoer I loved that atmosphere.
She is Russian, he is Japanese by origin, - both are Americans.
Amazing melting pot.
Her lovely man was baptized today.

I'm quite an emotional guy. So sometimes I feel myself so weak. But it's been a long time that I couldn't cry. Even the saddest thing only makes me feel bad. The tears just cannot fall although how hard I try. Maybe they evaporate away? The evaporating ones...
Some people said I've changed into an indifferent person. I dont know if I really change like that but I think Im stronger than before.
