Drawings done decades ago (80's, 90's; lying dog: 1972). Thanks to Joan Gillman Smith (who i Follow on Flickr here) for the idea of collaging old drawings to new paper(s). Liberate your drawings from scraggly sketchbooks to new, improved art!
in jail, people began asking me to write letters to judges for them. here, one is for a drug court judge and another is for custody issues.
This was intended for Highgate sidings in October 2000.
The points at the far right were never put in. Whilst they were in the earlier single train sidings, now this has been doubled.
As far as I have been able to discover, the single line ends at the siding's North Bound outlet out of sight on the left. The engineers siding doesn't exist.
Some more line drawings for my portfolio, based on the classic 'Alice in Wonderland' and also with the new Tim Burton version in mind which has inspired a whole bunch of new ideas for sketches, just need to get them out on paper :) Not sure which medium I'll use to add color to this just yet....
8.5x11 sepia micron pigma on cream card stock. An old drawing from a while back. I really like the clusters in this one.

I keep whining about how all my photos have power lines cutting through them. Decided to focus my attention on the lines themselves. I will probably make a public pool for these at some point.
Inspired by a photo of Roxanne, taken by photographer Gabriele Rigon. One of my attempts for the Zupi Book.

("75 Ways") #19: Draw in your car... (I'm never the driver, so can draw in transit.)
As viewed in the mirror on the flip-down sun visor at the top of the windshield, "shotgun" (= front passenger) seat. End of the work week, during an hour's drive at sundown, south to Haifa where younger daughter is appearing in a concert.
This is the longest time I've spent on a portrait, first time in pencil, with very little erasing. I started the sketch with my eyeglasses, as a "frame of reference." Even so, I can't seem to bring myself to draw my eyes their true size (= smaller than they appear here), or my eyebrows their actual shape and position.
Tool: Prang 3B "Drawing" pencil 2264 from an old set
Surface: A4 printer paper, recycled
Next time: draw my eyes in correct proportion.
Problem: How to draw my mostly-white hair in enough detail without the result being too dark.

Line drawings of the Way of Mercy artworks. Colouring in exercises for children and adults alike. By Rachel Alem
After my dance disaster last week with proportions all over the place the teacher at my life drawing classes this week 'suggested' i partake in some measured drawing.
The discipline of measuring and ignoring the light and shade was quite a physical discomfort for me, this drawing took two hours. I understand I need to grasp this skill and will work through the pain.
The model kindly said to me during her jaunt around to look at everyones work "is this your first time?"
