Pene Durston over at Cottage Industry was inspired by artist Janet Morton's work on my blog. So.. Pene and pals covered this tree outside her shop. How bloody marvellous!
I viewed the refinery from the Waterbird Regional Park, looking across the marsh and Interstate 680. It refines gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. It was built in 1915 by Shell Oil Company, and sold to PBF Energy in 2020.
It is in Martinez, California, about 12 miles from my home in Walnut Creek. It is just south of the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta. January 23, 2023
My Left Hand. Ink (Platinum Carbon Black, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same and Fuyu-Syogun, Kala Opal, J. Herbin Rouge Grenat). I'm right handed but want to train my left hand so did this entirely with my left. This took a loooong time, working very slowly.

i thought i better start learning about art two years ago. this year i continued with 'life drawing class'' and we had to do two-minute sketches from three-minute poses. this isn't the one i did in class in pencil, it's a copy of it transposed to my first moleskine for the moleskine exchange.
I've been meaning to put this up for a while. A little something for Underground Art School magazine :)
