I stopped by No Limit Crossfit just south of The Berkeley Apartments on Stanley to grab photos of their Saturday morning olympic lifting and crossfit classes. A birthday party for Lilly, daughter of owners Wade and Natalie, also broke out.

To live and eventually die here, that was his future. He'd never felt the need to travel or see the world, his life was frugal and his needs few. He would probably meet and marry a local girl, have children and finally be buried in this graveyard, following his father and his father before. If he was lucky his children would follow him, if not they would join the long list of lives cut short that were carved into the worn gravestones. Resting his hand on the cold damp sandstone he raised his eyes to the horizon and the limits of his existence.
The royal couple, Lobo and Sandy, were gracious enough to pose for me a couple days ago. Lobo is particularly magnificent in my opinion. He's everything a stallion/stud should be... except for the endangering his family by taking them to the park and hanging out on the roads every night part. But just look at him. He's spectacular! And Sandy is a legend in the wild horse lover community. She's been around for years and has been with every stallion out there. Kind of like a real Mustang Ranch lady ;-) This is the band that is targeted for round-up in the next few days *sniff sniff*
Wild horse lovers, and in particular the Hidden Valley Wild Horse Association is still working to save them from round-up, and are raising funds for cattle guards and fencing to keep them out of the neighborhoods. Here is a link to their website where donations can be made
Amazingly, this is a tag off a garment. I wasn't sure if it was a line of clothing (I'm assuming it is - if it is, I've never heard of it/them since) or just a "local" thing. Irony: I found the line of clothing in Erie PA.

This Tree is located at Lake Texoma State park and the starkness of the landscape around this picture struck me as being very obvious but I wanted to try and and createsomething that would make that obvious to others

A couple weeks back my newest lens, the Nikkor 18-200mm VR, arrived but I had little time to play with it. Five days later my new camera, the Fuji S5 Pro came but even the camera sat for a few days until I had time to pick up the proper flash card. Finally a night came when I could take both downtown to see what they could do. First, I was amazed to see how close this lens would let me get to a subject. The above is a tinier-than-usual geranium blossom found in a flower box in the Haymarket.
Then I tried it out for distance and put its anti-vibration capabilities to the test...
