One limit to Ron Kaufman's ground penetrating radar is the soil's conductivity: higher conductivity increases the "noise" the equipment picks up and makes the picture of below-ground sediments harder to understand.

d97480a. Recommended 50kmh speed limit on the Island Point road, heading out. This seems highly problematic to me.

Firstly, the speed limit is 100 on a road in a non-built-up area like this where there is no sign to say otherwise. Secondly, it is easy to do 80kmh or more, safely, on this road, and you can legally do it as the yellow speed signs are only recommendations. Thirdly, is this sign supposed to only apply when pedestrians are present? It could be interpreted as applying for the whole road back to the main road, whether or not pedestrians are present.

It is too vague and open to very different interpretations. There is too much scope for strong conflict between drivers who observe it at face value and those who (can legally) just completely ignore it and drive at almost twice the speed.

It is supposed to improve road safety, but it could potentially work strongly against it.

MP 148 on UP's Shoreline Subdivision in Sheboygan, WI. used to have a yellow "V" attached to it, designating yard limits. I believe that nowadays all track north of MP 146.5 is considered "Yard Limit" as the yellow sign has now been removed.

Inaugurazione sabato 6 febbraio 2010 ore 18,00, Spazio Multimediale San Francesco- Civitanova Marche Alta.

Hard to believe it's been 5 thousand days, blinking back the world and holding her in the palm of my hand. When I started this daily journal in November 2007, I was a stranger to my surroundings and barely talked to anyone I met. Everything I thought or felt was locked in my mind with what I'd seen, but I'd finally had enough of keeping to myself. There's a limit to introversion, and invisibility is it. I do well with my own company, certainly better than a crowd, but the need to be known is fundamental in everyone. I can't tell you how much this consistency has changed me, making sure that every day was in some way remembered. All those times when I start thinking that I'd rather settle in and stare at the wall, it's my reminder that adventure is waiting to blow my apathy away. 5 thousand days have followed me through every worst and wonderful thing, life and death, love and loneliness. Most of folks only been around for the past year or two, but if you've one of the old familiar faces, shout out. See you on day 10 thousand. Hold fast.

Hackleburg, Alabama

The town was hit by an F5 tornado on April 27, 2011 and destroyed. The city limit sign, proclaiming Hackleburg's 2007 State Championship Baseball team at least in still in the general area. The same sign on the south end of town is nowhere to be found. There was a second sign proclaiming Hackleburg as the hometown of country music hall of famer, Sonny James--it is nowhere to be found also.

Akrotiri is located on the Southern Peninsula of Cyprus, 20 km from Limassol. RAF Akrotiri originated on 1st July 1955, when the first 30 personnel were posted into the dry rocky scrubland. By the end of August 1956 the station strength had reached 260 Officers and 2864 other ranks. Today there are approximately 850 service personnel. RAF Akrotiri is one of the few full-scale RAF bases left outside the UK. The base attracts many visiting aircraft including the Red Arrows who use it as their Winter training ground.

The unit has many amenities including a gymnasium, a swimming pool with a removable roof, various sport and recreational clubs, including football, rugby, netball, hockey, high ropes, low ropes, horse riding and a multitude of water-sports that take place on base.
