My annual pilgrimage to the Edinburgh International Military Tattoo for 2018 celebrating 100 years of the RAF with a show called The Sky's the Limit. Fantastic display of music, dancing and lighting with added fun and fireworks as well.
The show is usually sold out every night but I definitely recommend trying to get along to one as they are quite something to behold.
Photographically it is always challenging with dark conditions, bright spot lights, sunsets, smoke and lots of fast movement but I think I'm getting the hang of it now. Hope you enjoy.

Sunday 27 October 2013: Mandalay (မန္တလေး) - U Bein Bridge (ဦးပိန် တံတား) - Kalaw (ကလောမြု့)
Up early for a long day's drive from Mandalay (မန္တလေး) to Kalaw (ကလောမြု့), I headed out after breakfast to buy some water for the journey and coincided with a long train of monks on their morning tour around town collecting alms. Wonderful.
Although the trip notes said we'd be at U Bein Bridge (ဦးပိန် တံတား) for sunrise, we left the Silver Star Hotel in daylight, and by the time we reached the bridge it was raining. Still, the downpour (it got worse during our visit) made for an atmospheric stroll on the bridge out over the waters of Taungthaman Lake which was dotted with fisherman out in boats and bare legs.
Courtesy of the Chinese built road, and a lot of beeping of the horn, our coach made short shrift of the journey to the hill station of Kalaw (ကလောမြု့) up in the Shan Hills (ရှမ်းရိုးမ), with stops for morning tea and lunch at a roadside canteen/restaurant en route. The rain didn't stop - which curtailed the scenic views somewhat.
I liked Kalaw; after Mandalay it really was a breath of fresh air, considerably cooler (quite chilly in fact!) than the cities and plains we've been in up until now. A lot smaller too, with the town centred on a few blocks that comprised the market area. After settling in at the aptly named Winner Hotel (big, clean rooms, plenty of blankets, complementary tea, a kettle/fridge and TV that worked - even a hair dryer!), Anna, Miriam and I ventured out in the rain to explore. The colonial railway station wasn't worth the soaking, but we spent a happy hour drying off sipping sweet chai and tucking into fresh, sugared paratha at a local cafe before mooching around the market stalls and the surrounding shops.
Dinner at Dream Restaurant provided some with an opportunity to sample the local red wine, which got rave reviews.

Austin City Limits Music Festival 2010
"Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are like a modern-day version of Tina Turner stroking the microphone in a spangled mini-dress while fronting the Rolling Stone circa Sticky Fingers. The proof is there for all to hear on the band's third album for Hollywood Records, and marks an artistic breakthrough for a vital young band caught in the act of fullfilling its immense promise. Little wonder that Grace and her cohorts have chosen to title it, directly and emphatically, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals."

Thousands of brazilians went to the street to protest against the government and the corruption on March 15th.
San Antonio, officially the City of San Antonio, is the seventh most populous city in the United States and the second most populous city in both Texas and the Southern United States. Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city became the first chartered civil settlement in Texas in 1731, making it the state's oldest municipality. The city's deep history is contrasted with its rapid growth: it was the fastest-growing of the top ten largest cities in the United States from 2000 to 2010, and the second from 1990 to 2000.
Straddling the regional divide between South and Central Texas, San Antonio anchors the southwestern corner of an urban megaregion colloquially known as the "Texas Triangle".
San Antonio serves as the seat of Bexar County; recent annexations have extended the city's boundaries into Medina County and, for a tiny area near the city of Garden Ridge, into Comal County. Since San Antonio was founded during the Spanish Colonial Era, it has a church (San Fernando Cathedral) in its center, on the main civic plaza in front, a characteristic of many Spanish-founded cities, towns, and villages in Spain and Latin America. As with many other Western urban centers, areas outside the city limits are sparsely populated.
San Antonio is the center of the San Antonio–New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area. Commonly called Greater San Antonio, the metro area has a population of 2,473,974 based on the 2017 U.S. census estimate, making it the 24th-largest metropolitan area in the United States and third-largest in Texas. Growth along the Interstate 35 and Interstate 10 corridors to the north, west and east make it likely that the metropolitan area will continue to expand.
San Antonio was named by a 1691 Spanish expedition for Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day is June 13. The city contains five 18th-century Spanish frontier missions, including The Alamo and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, which together were designated UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2015. Other notable attractions include the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, SeaWorld, the Alamo Bowl, and Marriage Island. Commercial entertainment includes Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Morgan's Wonderland amusement parks. According to the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau, the city is visited by about 32 million tourists a year. It is home to the five-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, and hosts the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the largest such events in the U.S.
The U.S. Armed Forces have numerous facilities in and around San Antonio; Fort Sam Houston is the only one within the city limits. Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, Lackland AFB/Kelly Field Annex, Camp Bullis, and Camp Stanley are outside the city limits. Kelly Air Force Base operated out of San Antonio until 2001, when the airfield was transferred to Lackland AFB. The remaining parts of the base were developed as Port San Antonio, an industrial/business park and aerospace complex. San Antonio is home to six Fortune 500 companies and the South Texas Medical Center, the only medical research and care provider in the South Texas region.

Washington, D.C. – With the latest showdown over the government shutdown and debt limit finally over and the next budget fight beginning, a coalition of healthcare, community, faith-based, and labor activists call on Congress members Wednesday, October 30 to shift the tone from austerity budget cuts to expanding revenues with a small tax on Wall Street speculation that can bring hundreds of billions of dollars into the budget to help rebuild our economy.
The Robin Hood Tax campaign, endorsed by more than 160 local and national organizations, precede the lobby effort with a march to the Capitol, and a briefing for members of Congress and the media. World renown economist Jeffrey Sachs and Anni Podimata, political leader from Greece, vice president of the European Parliament, where 11 nations are implementing a Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) to spur European economies, will be featured speakers at the briefing.
The trail outside the Jefferson Memorial, by E Basin Dr SW. Not sure why there is a speed limit sign here. The trail does merge into a heavily-visited sidewalk; speeding cyclists would cause conflicts. Washington, DC.
My best bet is that this is the speed limit around here. There are some "if's" include. If your car does survive going that speed while outside temeprature is 50 °C. If your fuel consumption will still bring you to the next roadhouse. If you don't hit a cow or any larger animal...
