An early highlight. Thanks to my wife's alertness we spotted this Buzzard warming up in the early morning sun

a lightshade made as a gift for a friend, made from paper and decorated with coloured vellums and machine stitching. It folds flat when not in use.

My hibiscus is enjoying the perfect warm outdoor sunlight, because it soon will have to be

brought indoors before the cold weather hits! (Best viewed on black)

Long shot of the painted ceiling fan and the light shades that I painted with glass paint

this is a wrapping paper tube covered with glowsticks and toy light sabers with disco ball light shades mcgyvered together with duct tape, electric tape and fastened to a power drill. very unstable, it lasted as a complete unit for just a few minutes.

#AnObjectsPointOfView was this week's FlickFriday challenge, toying with a few ideas I eventually went with a shot of a celing from the carpets point of view.

2 different lightshades faded out of black! green and purple! its like corpse bride!!!

Little Chef Dundee inside. Lightshades and curtains changed in 2000s but everything else is shabby chic circa 1989. Quality Olympic Breakfast was had though and home with so many lollies

A quick and dirty shot tonight as I left it too late to really think about taking a good shot.

The cute pussycat has packed her bags and gone to live with Dave and despite her inevitable departure we're all dreadfully melancholy :(

Anyway, this shot is of the canopy lightshade over the snooker table. It's fringed all around with these golden twists which really are of a bygone age, but then so is snooker, so it's all good.

I can't help but feel that the black section in the top quarter of the frame looks dreadfully fake, but it is genuine.

Sometimes they just turn out that way. :)

Early morning light coming in through the kitchen window (Chul or Bhatarkhana) at the Pantasachiv Rajwada (Palace) at Bhor.

Bhor was one of the princely states of British India, under the Poona political agency of the Bombay Presidency, and later the Deccan States Agency. Along with Akkalkot, Aundh, Phaltan, and Jath, it was one of the Satara Jagirs. Situated among the higher peaks of the Western Ghats, the state covered an area of 2,357 square kilometres, and had a population of 137,268 in 1901.[citation needed] Its Hindu rulers, of the Deshastha brahmin caste, used the title "Pantsachiv" and were entitled to a hereditary 9-gun salute. Its flag was a red swallow-tailed pennant.

The state was founded by Shri Shankarji Narayan (Pantsachiv) in the year 1697, and was acceded to the Dominion of India on 8th March 1948. The last Ruler of Bhor was Raja Shrimant Sir Raghunathrao Shankarrao Babasaheb Pandit Pantsachiv. The town of Bhor, once the capital of the princely state, is located about 40 kilometres south of Pune, adjacent to Bhatghar dam. The royal palace is still present. - Wikipedia

Film. SOOC. Old.

Finally saw Inception yesterday.

I was ment to have a photo shoot with a model today but it was postponed.

Went into town to drop of application forms for a photography course, have an interview on Thursday (to be followed by breakfast/lunch, exhibition visit and movie with my mum and sister and then babysitting)

Walked around town, took some photos with my film camera, went to the natural history museum and then to see "the taking of Christ" by Caravaggio, which my mum adores.

Then met my dad for lunch.

Then met a friend and went to see Scott Pilgrim.

Babysitting and accupuncture tomorrow.

busy, busy, busy and tired.

She doesn't want to go home yet.

I've followed the history & activities of the giant Dutch company Philips for over 40 years - largely due to their broadcasting equipment (from studio television cameras to radio receivers in the home). The range of activities in which they have been involved is amazingly diverse - today it's 'Royal Philips' - the 'Electronics' recently disappeared from the name.
